Carl Fredrick Wilhelm Wendt
Sorry I didn't mean just Wilhelm Wendt in other e-mail. Carl is also in the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Wilhelm Wendt
Do you know if your Wilhelm Wendt had a sister named Wilhelmina Wendt married name Witt? She lived in Brown County Minnesota in 1885.But immigrated in 1878. She was born Jan 26, 1842 in Luban (? spelling) Prussia, Germany. Died Aug 27, 1915 in Becker County Minnesota. I have been searching for a connection to her family. When I found her obituary in Becker County there were also articles of people that came to visit before she passed, one was about her brother Herman. But... all of my searching leads me to believe that he was a nephew not a brother like the news paper stated. In the St. Paul Lutheran Church records in Springfield, Brown County Minnesota I found a Wilhelm Wendt in the first few pages that I believe are the founding members but no dates by his name. Wilhelmina's daughter was confirmed in 1890 in the same church. Any information would be a great help. Thank-you!

New photo and caption with translation added this morning. Translation is courtesy of a aGerman-speaking colleague of my husband's.) It's a lovely spot. Interesting how the early tombstones are all German names and inscriptions in German, but written in a more old-fashioned way than they write now. Not all of them have a verse like Albertine's, I think she was much beloved.

RE: Martin & Maria (Walck) Schmidt Headstones
Heath, you are quite welcome. Couple of notes on the photos for the Schmidt family. Maria's stone is lying on the ground, split in half. Her name on the gravestone is Maria Christ Walck Verchl Schmidt. Martin's stone is quite sound and stands tall. Between them, there is a stone for Christian T. Schmidt, also lying on the ground, but not broken. I'm presuming this is their son. I will add photos to his page.

Albertine Schmidt Headstone
Hi Heath, I just uploaded the photo of her monument today. I noticed there is some grass in the way of the message and I will try and go out there and re-take this week. I'll bring a little broom this time to clear it off. Also, I will take note of the actual wording of the message to share.

P.S. I took photos of the other 2 Schmidt stones in the same cemetery and will share those, but someone else has claimed that they will do it so I'll wait and see if they re able to fulfill.

Heath,
It took me awhile to get caught up but I linked Joseph's parents to his memorial today. Thanks for the information!
