|Scooter T||RE: Davies in Grange Hill Westmoreland Jamaica|
I am not related to the Davies. I just have the incredibly good fortune to be working on a temporary assignment with the Government of Jamaica. I get a day off here and there, and I use that time to document cemeteries around the island. There are very few find-a-gravers here - lots of cemetery superstition - so there is much work to be done.
|Scooter T||Davies in Grange Hill Westmoreland Jamaica|
During this past weekend I photographed the cemetery at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, Jamaica. Unfortunately I could not locate any of your Davies monuments to photograph. There is a fairly large gated enclosure in the cemetery that is overgrown with bushes. Due to the overgrowth I could not see any of the monuments, and I was not prepared to enter the enclosure. I suspect that this is where the Davies are located, assuming they were a prominent family? This enclosure is partially visible on the right side of the photograph I added to the cemetery main page. It is also possible that they are interred inside the church – I have seen this in some of the Anglican churches. It is also possible that I just totally overlooked them, but I think I photographed the entire cemetery. I had hoped to give you better news.
You are welcome.

Just to keep you updated... I called Venice Memorial Gardens and St. Nathanial's Church yesterday giving them the funeral date off the program you posted for your Aunt. Neither person I spoke with was immediately able to find a record of her burial or of the funeral home in charge of her wake.
Both ladies; however, were very nice and took my home phone number agreeing to try to find out additional information for me.
I have also spoken with the largest provider of funeral services in North Port, FL which is Farley Funeral Home and they do not have her records. Is it possible that she had a hyphenated last-name? Some ladies do, which hampers finding them in genealogical records. I'm really trying very hard to be helpful.
|Marcia Shears||Oliver Brown date fixed|
I have fixed Oliver Brown's birth year. It would have been impossible for him to have died before he was born (smile).
|Glenn Joiner||Orlando Buchanan|
I am the Find A Grave photo volunteer who claimed your request. Per the cemetery office records Orlando Buchanan never had a marker set. I did find his grave and will post those pics but there is no marker for his grave.
His grave location is: Valley View Section – Block 186 –Lot 6

You are very welcome.
|BluGraver||Octavio Mendez Pereira suggestion|
Thanks for the suggestion, and welcome to Findagrave! I originally submitted the Mendez Pereira memorial as 'famous', however, it was rejected by Findagrave administration. I hope you enjoy my little project, and I would be grateful for any assistance regarding notable Panamanians. Likewise, let me know if I may assist you in any way. Thanks again!
