You may already know about these. Nellie's brothers:
William Beach Hand 19 Dec 1884 Pgh to 24 Jan 1960 Twin Falls Idaho. WWII draft Card, residing in Buhl, Twin Falls Idaho, born in Pgh.
Matthew Lotton Hand, 19 Apr 1889 Beltzhoover to ????, WWI Draft Card, residing in Monongahela, Washington, PA, born Beltzhoover
Foster Charles Hand,22 Aug 1892, Pgh. WWI Draft Card, residing in Sandusky, Erie, OH with father and step-mother.
I too think that Matthew L Hand moving to Colorado, then Texas as spike maker for the railroad then working in a hotel in CA has to be Phoebe's husband. All the information fits. Wish we could see the death certificates for Matthew L Hand that died in CA in 1935 and for William Beach Hand who died 24 Jan 1960 in Twin Falls, Idaho. I entered that info on my family tree and will mark that it needs to be verified.
Thanks again for all the wonderful work that you did and shared. Florence Meade
Hi Bill, You have done such nice work on your tree. I needed your Hand family research to sort out my confusing Finegan tree. We connect through Charles D Snyder 1910 to 14 Mar 1952. Charles D is the son of Nellie A Hand Snyder 1879-1915 and Charles F Snyder 1883- ?. I sent an edit to you in Find A Grave to connect Nellie Hand Snyder to her mother Phoebe A Richards Hand 1858-1919.
Your email must have brought me luck. I looked many times for our Mary R Finegan Gray Snyder' dc but never found it. I finally found it this morning. Her father is listed as "John Finnegan" instead of "William Finegan" on her death certificate. Our Mary R Finegan Gray Snyder and her husband, your Charles D Snyder are both listed as being buried at Calvary on their dc's. I checked the Calvary listings in St Mary's Cemetery site and neither are listed in the Catholic Cemetery listings. That isn't unusual. I have other burials at Calvary that when I've called they have no record. There are even pictures that a volunteer has posted on Find A Grave. Would you like to enter Charles D Snyder 20 Aug 1910 Pgh to 14 Mar 1952 Pgh and connected him to his mother Nellie A Hand Snyder 1879-1915? I could enter Mary's confusing information and transfer it to you if you would like.

Bill, I'm doing the family research for a cousin, who is the descendant of Luisa "Jennie" Hand, buried in Mingo Cemetery. Thank you for posting that information! Obviously you have a stake in the family history. If possible, contact me privately at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can compare notes. I live about 75 minutes from Mingo Cemetery.

I made the links/additions. I made a note that you think "M" is for Mary. If you find out for sure, let me know, I will change the M. in the name of the memorial.

I am interested in your entry for Rebecca E. Hand White. Are you by chance related? If so, please message me for possible collaboration on the White line.
I added the maiden name and connected her to her parents.....always glad to get family linked to one another.

Would you be able to tell me the difference between these cemeteries, are they the same?
Harrolds Reformed Lutheran
My answer to this question is yes and no.
The pictures I took at the what find a grave calls Saint Johns Reformed Cemetery is Physically St. Johns Harrold Reformed cemetery today.
What I understand and I could be a litte off is that in the old days the church was Harrolds Church. For Example Phillip Steinmetz is listed in Harrolds Church and my listing in St. Johns Harrolds Reformed church Cemetery. If today you went to find the tombstone you would drive to St. Johns and walk in the back yard and find the tombstone because they is no Harrolds church. Another person ask me to check because there relation was also listed as buried in Harrolds church. I is 50 ft away from the St. Johns sign.
The bottom line is over time my understand is the churchs split. Plus the cemetery had 3 church involved in that cemetery.
Currently I hear that a cemetery project it going to take place by St. Johns to weed out some confusion
Now to make matters more confusing the is across the Street from St. Johns Harrold is Harrold Zion evangelical Lutheran Church - so per stone in the old days Sion Church is stone on find a grave front page for church.
Now Hempfield Zion is a little cemetery on the hill across from the Jewish cemetery. It is what locals I have heard called Zion on the Hill.
The way I look at it is if today you wanted to find this person. Where would you drive to?
