Evergreens Cemetery
Hi Sippican

I took a photo request for you back on Aug 25, 2012 for Marie Fritz Schlie
In Section Mt Herman grave-2529 at Evergreens Cemetery in Brooklyn NY.
This past week I also had another request in the same area, this section is old and very few headstone have marking to identify what headstone it is.

When I come across this problem I look for a headstone that has clear marking and then walk of the unmarked headstone to I reach the grave location I have been looking for using this method and rechecking the graves I have been very successful, and I thought for your request as well until the headstone that I used to locate the Schlie grave site, Was missed marked by about 50 graves.
I have entered the Schlie correct grave location with a headstone of Friedrich Robert Schlie headstone in grave- 2529. Please accept my sincere apologies for this error on my part………..JP

RE: Chadwick photo
Hi Helen,

What a great undertaking you have done to photo all those headstones! Many people will be so grateful.

I have found quite a bit of info on the Sippican History website. Lots of old newspaper clippings that have really helped fill in some of the blanks on my family tree.

My great grandmother was a Nye from Marion. Please email me and I will send you her name and information. It would be nice to see how we are related :)

Chadwick photo
Thank you for the photo of the Chadwick headstone at Evergreen cemetery. I really appreciate the effort. I wish I lived closer or there was a good resource to find information on Evergreen Cemetery. I visited there many years ago and took photos of some of my relatives graves but as I add to my tree I realize there are so many more there.

Thanks again - glad to know there is a Sippican helper now!

RE: Seth Atwood
We're on a roll ....Abial Dean would be my 4 x Great Grandfather. I've created a memorial for him at N. Marion ... would appreciate it if you'd post the photo. His wife was Abthier White (1765-1866) if you have her too?

Don't have any record of a 4th marriage of Emilene so I guess she's lost for now? Thanks for looking.

I know what you mean about overgrown/worn stones. Many of the "family" cemeteries I've scouted for photo requests here in the mountains of NC have been a challenge. Some you have to be Indiana Jones to find and others you have to be careful not to get shot?

RE: Seth Atwood
While I don't see her listed as buried in this cemetery in the records I have perhaps you could look, when you have time, for his wife, Emilene Dean Atwood (1806-1885). After Seth died she remarried twice to a George Washington Cobb and a Obed Griffith so she may be buried with their surnames.

Thanks again .... and yes it's been in the upper 90's here in the normally cool mountains of NC.
