RE: Cemetery records-Woodside
The only written record I know of is a reading done in 1936 by Ruth Robbins Monteith. The Ruth
Robbins Monteith reading is posted on the Gunplain, Allegan Co, MI site. The original twp records were burned. The township has recently done a scan on the cemetery but it only tells where there are empty spots and they are selling those to cremation burials. It is a beautiful little cemetery. Some of the people in the cemetery were born as early as 1767. The stones are starting to disappear and we are only posting what stones we can find. A very interesting project--my sister & I have visited about many of the first settler's in Allegan Co and have learned so many interesting stories and connections. We hope to complete the cemetery this summer. Rita
