Thank youy for the confirmation. I have been working on gathering information on the men who voted for a while. The work that has been previously done has been accepted as if it was gospel. There is a lot missing. It is my goal to build up more documentation. I already have found overlooked documents showing men that did vote and were forgotten. My guess is that the original plaque was stolen by metal thieves. An ever growing problem in cemeteries. It is sad to see such happen. Thank you for your help in this quest.
Thank you for your quick turn around on my photo request for James O'Neil. Quite appreciated! One question though. I am working on the men who voted at Champoeg. Jis memorial does not state if he was one. I know the Hames O'Neil who did vote's grave was marked by the DAR back in the 1930's with a metal plaque. Is there a plaque attached to this marker? You cropped your picture onto the transcription.
Did you know the Polk County Historical Museum in Rickreall has cemetery listings. As does the Monmouth Library Genealogy Section/Reference, and more limited at WOU.
