William H. Painter
I just found that William did not have a memorial so I created one and attached his wives. I added a slightly different picture of Amelia's headstone because William does not have one. I was just at the cemetery in September and got plot numbers from the office. I don't know why Elizabeth never got him a headstone. They are in Plots 127 & 129 but I am not sure which is which. This is right beside the road and at this time almost under a bush.

Yes, go ahead and use the pictures. Do you have any pictures of William? I would like a copy of one if you do and any information you want to provide. I really don't have much information about him besides his obituary. I did just get a picture of where he is buried, he does not have a headstone but is right beside his first wife Amelia per the cemetery office. I don't remember if I posted it on Find A Grave but will make sure I do. Beckie

re: Sylvanus Dunham #64779923
Pamela -
As far as I know, there is no supporting evidence other than what is posted on the memorial. I feel quite certain that this information was given to Mr. KINGMAN via personal interview with Charles Sumner DUNHAM, son of Sylvanus DUNHAM Jr, and grandson of our subject Sylvanus DUNHAM Sr. Charles was born in 1846, far too late to have met Sylvanus SR. or his wife Ursula. So I hear your concerns about this memorial, yet we cannot deny what is stated to be his last resting place simply because there is no marked grave there. I suppose there is some chance that his burial 'in the Indian Opening at Madison.' was meant in a more general sense rather than at the Indian Opening cemetery at Madison, but until we have a firm candidate for an alternate burial location, I hope to leave his memorial listed here.
