RE: Margaret Eubanks Phillips' Husband
Hi Lee,
You did respond to me. Thanks for checking. I still haven't been able to find where John M. Phillips is buried although he's probably buried in the Peak's Hill area of Calhoun Co. AL. I'll try to visit that area on my next research trip to Alabama. There's a good article on our Phillips family in the book, "The Heritage of St. Clair County, Alabama" published in 1998. I could make a copy of the article and send it too you if you don't already have a copy.
Happy New Year!
Your cousin,
Larry Hathcock

Here's my connection to the Phillips family:
John M. Phillips
John R. "
Gemes Daniel "
Mary Savannah Phillips Hathcock
Rayford A. Hathcock
Larry R. "
My mother and her family lived at Caldwell and knew John R. Phillips in the 1920's and 30's before she met and married my father. We just happened to be in Alabama in 1961 when Gemes Daniel died. Last spring was the first time I had been back to Pleasant Hill since his funeral in 1961.

RE: Margaret Eubanks Phillips' Husband
Hi Cousin Lee,
I haven't been able to find the tombstone of John M. Phillips. I assume that he's buried in a cemetery in the Peak's Hill community near present day Ohatchee, AL. That's where the family lived before moving to St. Clair County. Perhaps he never had a tombstone erected on his grave. Would you mind listing your line down from John M. to yourself?
