Thank you so much for fulfilling my request. May I share your photo with my family in my family tree giving you credit for taking the photo.

Also may I share her husband's photo you also took of Luverne Covel.

RE: Thanks!
Hi Nathan,
You must have been getting a telepathic message. I was in Bemidji on Sunday, visiting with Vernon and Faith Francis and their two daughters, Edie and Bev, and I asked them who Nathan Francis was, because of the pages you had set up for Albert and Hattie.
I am Albert and Hattie's granddaughter. My father was Walter Francis, who was a great pal of Vernon's, they were less than a year apart in age and grew up like brothers. When my mom and dad married, they moved to Minneapolis. We would go to the Falls every summer to visit with my grandparents and all of the other relatives in town. Hattie was an Ogren, and there were lots of them around. And my mother was a Kalar, also a very large family in South International. I sometimes played with Evangeline, as Vernon and Faith lived right up the hill from my grandparents. I have to say that I never really knew your grandfather Ted very well, the last time I saw him as an adult was at Hattie's 90th birthday party at the family home. And I have never met any of his children, including your father.
I am 64, married Richard Black in 1975, he passed away in 2003, and I live in Excelsior, MN now. I have one daughter, Erica, who is married and lives in La Crosse, WI.
I have just started to get more involved with the genealogy of the family. I joined Ancestry a few months ago and started filling out a family tree. I took a weeks vacation in northern MN, visiting Ely, International Falls, Baudette, and Bemidji. I did some family research on all sides of the family, visited with many relatives, some that I hadn't seen in ages and some that I had never met before. I visited several cemeteries. I wanted to pay my respects, tend to overgrown gravesites, and take pictures with the thought of adding some people to findagrave. I know over 50 people in the Falls cemetery. I didn't finish in the Falls because I was attacked by swarms of gnats, had an allergic reaction and my arms and hands were all puffed up! I will have to return when all of those obnoxious insects are DEAD, maybe November to be safe.
I have some old pictures of the Olson family. You knew that Albert, Hilmer and Emilia (before she married) changed their last name from Olson to Francis, right? I only have sketchy stories of the reason why. If you would like me to send any of these to you, I would be happy to do so.
At some point in time I would probably like to be able to add things other than pictures to my grandparent's findagrave sites. I'm not sure how that works, but I know it can be done with your permission, since you are the originator. There is no hurry as I am pretty busy with the rest of the tree and I would plan to write a good bio for each of them.
I don't know what findagrave shows you, but my email address is
Thank you for setting up the sites, Nathan, and if you have any questions or want any of the pics let me know.
Your second cousin once removed,
Cathy Francis Black
