Westlawn-Hillcrest Vets
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

Robert E. Walsh
Hi Paula!
My sister saw your father's obituary, and was intrigued by the fact that the maiden name of Robert's mother was Lawson. My father's name was also Robert Walsh, and his father was Lawson Walsh (1888-1972). As Freud once said, there are no coincidences, so I was wondering if we could work together to discover whether the Rantoul Walshs and the Piatt/DeWitt County Walshs are connected. My great grandfather was born in Athlone, County Westmeath, the son of John Walsh (1802-1879). John, in turn, was born in the same place to Edward Walsh and Joan Merigan. My great-grandfather was married to Mary Louisa McKaig. Mary Louisa McKaig was from Tuscola, IL, and at the beginning of their relationship the Walshs were living in the Tuscola area. {My great-great grandfather and two of John Walsh's (1840-1930)brothers are buried in Upper Lester Cemetery near Ficklin, Douglas Co., IL.
