I have been doing family research for almost fourteen years and have visited dozens of cemeteries and made pictures of a lot of the tombstones of family members.

RE: Hassell cemeteries
Making sure I understand what you said: The Black John Hassell Farm Cemetery AKA: John Hassell Farm, is located close to Tarkington's Store. Here on Find A Grave there is no map or description about it's location, just says "Hickman County". Can you give directions or a better address that can be added?

Someone has made memorials for John "Toe-Headed" Hassell, #159764256 (1779-1863) and his wife, Polly, #159764379 (1789-1840) and placed them at the "Black John Hassell Farm Cemetery". They should be in the Hassell Cemetery in district #7 as described on page #138 in Hickman County Cemetery Records, Part II. From the information given, this John Hassell and Polly were the only graves and were unmarked.

When I saw your memorial for Eddie Hassell and there was a photo of the headstone, I knew there was a mistake somewhere.

There is a "Hassell Cemetery" on Find A Grave with a map, and being familiar with the area, I can tell that it is in district #7 and "across the Piney River from Frazier Cemetery". This is where John and Polly should be.

I will make an attempt to get the originator to make this change. Sometimes if the person isn't familiar with the county, it's hard to get the point across.

Please let me know if you see an error in my understanding.

RE: Duke Richard Johnson
My wife is in the Johnson family. I have several entries on my Marable family tree on Ancestry of the Johnson family. If you can get to it you can see all the entries. Please copy or choose anything on my site that you choose. I am happy for you to see and use the inf. That old pic was recently secured from my wife's father when we were cleaning out his house before taking him to a retirement center. I believe the one you are referring to is probably Duke Johnson and his family.

RE: Martin Cemetery, Hickman co.
No I was not the person that did the cleanup, but I'm happy that someone was thoughtful enough to clean them. Many of the stones were in terrible shape and almost unreadable. If you took any pictures of them, send a couple to my email, I would love to see how they look.
