|Marcell V.||Williams, Caldwell, Jordan|
Happy to find a Caldwell out there. My grandfather was Jordan Gillison Williams 1839-1924. His father was Jesse Lewis Williams 1794-1865 & his mother was Nancy Caldwell 1799-1865. Her father was James Caldwell 1773-1823, her mother was Susannah Jordan 1775-1855. My grandfather was named after Gillison Price and Jordan from Nancy’s mother (Susannah Jordan). Grandpa’ named his youngest son Hurley Caldwell Williams after James Caldwell. I’m searching for more on the Williams & Caldwell lines. Looking forward to any information or connections. I would be interested in your book on the Caldwell’s. Very sorry to hear that you lost your wife. Marcell

I will be visiting Lula Belle's grandchildren on August 28th and hopefully they will have photos of her and their grandfather for their pages and you. My cousin checked with the DAR chapter of Morgan Co, IL and it is named after Rev James Caldwell. They had no idea their grandmother was related to that Caldwell.
Lula Belle married Frank Leo Vedder and her father was William Augustus/George Washington/James/David.
Let me know if that helps or you need more.

I am a member and contributor to Find A Grave and my family has connection to Lula Belle Caldwell and her husband Frank Leo Vedder of Morgan Co., IL. I know their descendants would be very interested in what you would be willing to share with them and in return to you. I will be sure to have them join and contact you as soon as I show them all I have found on their family that I'm sure they were unaware even existed.

I'm so sorry it took so long for me to get to this. I haven't been on much since my mother passed away.

Transferred as per request.

Regarding the memorial for David Powell in Greenwood Cemetery #89466809. David died before 1893, so he could not be the father of children between 1906 and 1918. The Union Centenary Church was active in West Etna in the 1800s. I have very few notes from the church, as their records somehow ended up at the Grace Methodist Church at the border of Sharpsburg and O'Hara Township. I accessed them in 1984 while looking for relatives in Sharpsburg. I did not find much for my family, so I have few notes, but perhaps they will give some years to help us figure this out. I would prefer to only transfer once we know for sure that this is really the person you are looking for. I have had some bad experiences with people aiming for memorials that are not the correct person, and then we have a LOT to correct. I will be glad to work with you on this, and if it is the correct David Powell, I will gladly transfer to you.

It would be a pleasure. Consider it done.
