Tillman McNamee
Hi I just went through my old files written by some of the original McNamee and found nothing of which you asked. The letters are hard to get through and I did it quickly but I have an idea. Email me and I will send you the name of someone who might know and if she doesn't well you may never find what you need, but heck I found a second cousin this week that I had lookef for for over 20 years so time does give up it's secrets. RE: George McNamee Baker
I was afraid of that. You have probably already tried to find her by checking an on-line telephone type directory. I can't remember where she worked, but figure by now she has been retired for a few years, as she talked like she was looking forward to that in the near futures.

Have you been in touch with Gloria Verge? I forgot to mention it in my first e-mail. She has some reserach on Baker's - also on the McNamee's. The last address I have in my file for her is Glora Baker Verge 2148 28th Street Bellingham WA 98225-8279
Telephone 360-671-1104.
That information is dated December 2006. I think that is about the time she called me about some McNamee data we both seemed to be looking for.

RE: George McNamee Baker
I really wish I could be a real great help to you, but I'll give what little information I have. I have never done a lot of work on the Baker family, but did gather a little. I started my genealogy looking for my DeLong family and learned my grandfather's mother was Rachel Baker, a daughter of Tilman Baker. I found a researcher in Texas who had done extensive research on the Baker family and she shared some information. She did not send me copies of her documents but listed:
Land Records in Fairfiled Co., Ohio; Marriage Records, Fairfield Co.; Cem Records Rushville, Oh; Tex. Conf. M.E. church; Marrige Recs of Licking Co. Ohio; Census Records and Bible records of Doris Stodgill.
I did write to the Methodist Church and at one time had a document that did list the parents an siblings of Job M. Baker, but it seems to be missing from my file.
The lady from Texas was Virginia Blalock of Houston. We corresponded by snail mail, but later she did send a couple of notes e-mail, mostly just saying she saw my e-mail listed on some DeLong research I had done on-line, and she was glad I was still working on genealogy. I didn't not keep her e-mail addess and doubt it would be the same by this time - mine sure isn't!
I tended to spend more time on the DeLong's - they were somewhat easier to trace than the name Baker (I have an unrelated Baker in my Leach line also, so could see what a job I was getting to and guess I simply took the easy path. Through the years I've found it was not so easy after all, but I've not had time to return to the Bakers. However, with the middle names of George, Thomas and Moses all being McNamee I feel sure they were sons of Rachel and Tilman Bakre as we know Rachel was a McNamee.
I have two addresses for Virginia Blalock, but dont know if either is still valid - I am not even sure which was her last one, as I know she moved once during our correspondence. They are
Virginia Blalock - 1107 Hazen Rd. Houston, Tx and
12318 Welland, Housosn 77031.
I did and still do trust that her documentation was correct as she seemed the type that would make sure she was right, and she had worked on the family research for a long time, including several trips to Ohio to go through records and cemeteries.
I am sorry to not be of more help - and even more sorry I've not had time to research this family a little more - maybe one day I will get that one done also.

RE: George Baker
have you tried to look for his death cert. or cemetery records? I know he was their son but can't prove it. Also don't have Carla nash's email. Look on the message boards at Ancestry and Gen forum and ask. I've got a lot of info on the boards. Look for CNash name. Ohio has a lot of genealogy online too.

McNamee
I am cleaning out files today and came across an entire file someone sent me on the McNamee which I had not put in my gedcom file yet. I put it away and when I got your note thought that was meant to be but can't find it now. I am going through 30 years of research because I have been busy doing two more supplimentals on my DAR membership. I will look again tomorrow when I have my brain and my office in some kind of order. Keep looking though there are lots of McNamee's doing research.

There are sources on Mary McNamee Baker's page. Carla Nash has family sources. I'll try to find her email. Fairfield Co., Ohio may have the Will and marriage cert.s unless they were married in Maryland. Hugh McNamee, her father was also in Rev. War. Info on his page. Futher info is still on my old PC and I haven't been able to get it off yet. Sorry but I would contact the cemetery and find out where Wills are kept because she was admin. and his wife and it will state that in Will.

Please direct your inquiry through the memorial for George M. Baker using the "Edit" tab in the upper right hand of the memorial and then under the "Suggest a correction..." tab put your question. I have over 12,000 memorials and do not recognize this person. When you accept/send your message it will come to me with George Baker's memorial # attached to it. Thanks for using this feature of FindAGrave.

RE: George M Baker
I see you've left her a mssg. If you read her bio, you'll see at the end she gives her current email address. I'm sure she'll get back to you when she can. Good luck.
