If you call the cemetery and get the plot location, I'll get a photo for you.

James McSorley
Just checked his Find A Grave page and it looks like, by the ages, he is John's father? If I transfer those others, you can "link" John to James...or I can do it and then transfer.

RE: James McSorley
Great! I just uploaded the photo. As you can see, there is some type of brownish lichen growing on his stone and so many others in this old cemetery. Some monuments are impossible to read because of it...I was so glad I could spot the McSorley (larger stone)!

Now, I just added the other McSorley's whose monument is right next to James' smaller one...there is John 1838-1916...is he a brother to your James? Also, John's wife, Cora Barry and their 3 infant children: Francis, James, and Nellie.

There is also a footmarker in front of this stone for a Stephen Carlin 1840-1911...is he connected to the McSorley's?

I can transfer all these other McSorley's to you, if you'd like. Let me know, Laurie

RE: James McSorley
Hi, I think you deleted and re-entered him in the same "new" St. Joseph's cemetery! Delete him from the one he's listed in now...you notice the photo of the new looking sign, green with gold letters, with my name as having taken that photo? That's the new cemetery off Route 30, maybe mentions Lake Titus road, south of Malone, NY.

The "old" St. Joseph's is on route 37 or maybe it says Finney Blvd...it has a drab old looking sign on the homepage with a view of older looking stones. That's the one you want!

Again, let me know...or I can email you the photo and you can do it from your end? Good luck, Laurie

James McSorley
What you could do in the meantime, is go ahead and create a memorial page for him at the old St. Joseph's cemetery. Then I can upload the photos for him and the other McSorley's that I have taken.

You should be able to simple "delete" his memorial page at the other cemetery...perhaps it will go thru today. Just let me know when you're ready or I'll check the old cemetery site later today. Take care, Laurie

James McSorley in Malone, NY
Hi, I noticed your photo request for James McSorley in St. Joseph's cemetery in Malone. However, you added his Find A Grave to the "new" St. Joe's cemetery; when I saw his birth and death dates, I knew he wouldn't be in there. I checked the online transcriptions for the "old" St. Joseph's cemetery, and there he is in Section 5.

If you delete him from the new and add him to the new, I have photos ready to upload. There is his very old stone and a new one for McSorley's right next to it.

Leave me a message in return and I'll get those uploaded. Take care, Laurie

RE: Mullen/McBride
I never knew of a cemetery near St Stephens. The West Cemetery in Middlebury I believe is all on line now. There is an old West Cemetery in New Haven that has a lot of local names but that is a stretch from Mdlebury. I don't see them around in the census records after 1880 but the next one was 1900 so a lot could of happened by then. In last census they were in Middlebury but in the West Salisbury Post Office area so there are some older cemeteries in that area too. The Seeley Cemetery would be in Middlebury but on West Salisbury line.
I guess if we get the two feet of snow today they are promising it might be a while before I get back out searching.

RE: James Mullen
Good morning.
I got the picture of the wife and with the two markers but I did not mean to imply that they are her parents. Sarah's marker is alone and not the type that would usually have another marker. The markers are more used when a monument has a few names and then each one has a foot stone. There is a monument in line that has 3 names so I really think that these "Mother & Father" would belong to them. Have you checked with the church to see if the others are buried here?
Where did you find the St Stephens Cemetery? I don't know of that one in Middlebury?
Alan
