I was introduced to Findagrave when a good friend asked if I would like her to create memorials for my parents and sister. I loved this idea so much that I became a member. Shortly thereafter, I took over my sister's geneaology research and began to upload what she had gathered on our mother's side to Ancestry.com. My aunt had also spent years gathering information on my father's side, so I have put her information on Ancestry, too. |
I am touched by the work gravers do on behalf of countless strangers, and am so grateful when I find memorials for my beloved relatives and friends.
I love this way of honoring their memories and being able to share photos of them so that future generations will be able to find them and have a better sense of the people they were here on Earth. I am also hopeful that they themselves know that I am thinking of them, missing them, and hoping to see them again in Heaven one day.
God bless the kind contributors to Findagrave. Thank you for the comfort you provide to others.

I had gone out to Maplewood today to get my own photos of the Doran Plot and stones. And ran across Mary Doran's photo you posted.
My Grandmother is a Doran (Carrie Doran Jurney).
Lewis Doran was my GGGGrandfather (son of John Edward Doran) & brother to Silas.
I have furniture from the Marion Doran Parkhill home that was in Whitlock. My Granny lived next door to the house and was told they could take any of the furniture left. I have the kitchen table and it still had plates on the table when we got it. I also have an Oak bed from the house.
Mary Doran would be my 2nd cousin 3x removed.
I just love the photo you posted. So glad you did.
I love the old photos especially family members.

I have two nice electronic stone photos for Edwin Elon Towers.
Maybe you could hold them until Freedye passes?
Maybe you want to evaluate them & push them into Find A Grave?
Either way, I'm going to delete them.
If you want them, please send email address to email@example.com

Hi Beverly! Thanks for the edits to these memorials! Just wanted to check and see if you are in any way related to them? If so, I'd be happy to transfer them to your care… I'm not related at all… just happened to take their photo on a trip to the cemetery. Take care, Dana

We enjoy taking photos of cemetery headstones and posting on Findagrave.com. We enjoy more the wonderful mail we get thanking us. There is nothing better than a early morning walk in a cemetery. It lets you value life. The peace and quiet there let's your thoughts flow freely.
Just a quick note to let you know that yes, I am related to the Sifford's that you mentioned. The Mrs. Sifford is my mother, Margaret Sifford is my sister, so your cousin Jim is my ex-brother-in-law. Yes indeed, it is a small world.
I have done the transfers that you asked for. Please do individual requests for each memorial that you want. This will insure that the correct memorials will be sent to you. Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for the photos. However, a couple of the display upside down. Could you fix them, please?
