My uncle Blake (84803076 Blake Mitchell WALKER) was my inspiration to start this journey of where I come from. From his documents, I found that we had several Civil War veterans, family fought in the Revolutionary War and even traced back to the Siege of Londonderry. I recall him telling me as a little girl about being a member of the Betsey Ross Sewing Club. This intrigued me enough to start my own adventure into our family history. I started on my mother's side who is also a WALKER. To my mother's surprise (or confusion), her parents were NOT from Wales & Yorkshire as she had always told me as a child…they were from Michigan! I'll never forget her telling me "Well who the hell am I?" While I have several brick walls, I am enjoying the challenge to find missing links. It's always some amazing story that keeps you going. My hope is that one day my daughter will carry on our family story for future generations...Kind regards, Harriet|

|Dennis||Maud Walker, again|
Maud was quite an artist. As I sit here writing this, I see four of her oil paintings and our daughter has one in her home.

Hi! Did you know Fred Walker was also a football coach at Michigan State University? Did you see the wikipedia link on him? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mysterious_Walker
He is a legend in my wife's family. Her step dad often talks about him because he is a big sports fan and knowing him "in the day" is a big deal. Fred's wife, Maude Olson is a great aunt. Cathy, my wife remembers her. So Maude is a sister to Gertrude, Cathy's Grandmother. They lived here for a time in Suttons Bay, Michigan and the home sits on a beautiful property with a stream flowing through it.

I saw that you left a flower on the grave of
Charles Leverette in Michigan , and you have a virtual cemetery for Denmark Cemetery . This makes me think you have a connection to the Leverettes. If so I have a few very old photos you may be interested in seeing. My contact information is on my home page.

Thanks for replying . After an extensive search I have found out that my ancestor is not John Jackson but Robert Jackson of Hempstead , NY . Jackson is a common name it seems & after I dug around more I found out I was wrong about John Jackson. Thank you for replying .

Hello I believe we are related as I am also related to the Walkers! My 2nd great grandmother was Susannah Walker Cross. I saw that you left flowers on her memorial and thought you may want to see a picture I posted of her on there. Maybe we could share info? Have a great day!
|Mary Bridges||Susanna Dawson|

|Liz||Maud Olson Walker|
Hi Harriet, I came across this site while looking for family in Leelanau county. I'm the great grandniece of Maud Walker on the Olson side. I have a painting that she created, a beautiful ghostly landscape that I love, no date. I wanted to share a photo of it but see there is no way to do that on this message board. All for now! Kind regards, Liz

Could you remind me of the Walker's that I was going to transfer? I've deleted our previous correspondence.

Hey cousin! Thanks for putting Dad up. I am still going through his boxes and finding some great pictures of Dad, Paul, and David.
Give my best to Mathilda and Marty.
