My interest in my family's history began at a young age, as I sat with my Grandmother, looking through her genealogy books filled with documents & photos. Since then, I've been able to use her research as a building block to expand my family's tree further than she could have imagined.|
I've always found cemeteries fascinating. And since I don't have the time to travel as much as I'd like, I've quickly become addicted to FindAGrave.
The surnames I am mainly interested are: Say, Heer, Fritz, Decker, Porter, Fox, Parker, Harris, Rickart, Barber, Lewis, Dale, Slawson, Hutchinson, McIntyre, Priest, Hatcher, Lodge.

Do you have information on the mother of Jacob Rickart? (1786- 1844)
I'd like to hear from you,
|John Epperson||John W Rains @ Maple Park Cemetery|
The Cemetery Office has two John Rains' listed. Per the Office, John W Rains is indeed at Block 29 Lot 8. John W Rains as referenced in Find A Grave as Memorial # 61796509. But there is no marker with that name in Block 29 Lot 8. At Block 41 Lot 12 is a John Wiley Rains 1855-1937. John Wiley Rains is Find A Grave Memorial# 61796461. So, I'm sorry to say that John W Rains has no Headstone.
|janice feller||Karl Henry Porter Sr.|
I am hoping you have more information for Karl Henry Porter Sr., the son of William and Agnes Porter. Karl H Porter Sr. married Greta Seaver about 1916. Together they had two children both born in Shawnee County, Kansas possibly in Wakarusa; Irma Porter born about 1917 and Karl Henry Porter Jr. born about 1924. I would like to know what happened to Irma Porter as she did not appear in the 1940 census with her parents and brother. Did she get married, to whom? Is it correct that Karl Porter Sr., his wife Greta and their son Karl Porter Jr., died in a train wreck November 30, 1940? Do you have any details of where and how it happened? My mother was a school mate of Irma.

|Joe Skorupa||RE: Susan McIntyre|
You're welcome,I'm glad I could help!
Also, she was next to William McIntyre, but his grave marker is knocked off its base, but I added a picture for him as well.
|Neal Robertson||Charles Kibel|
Emily, saw your request for Charles Kibel photo. Are you related to any of the Kibels in Colorado? If so who?
|KUfan||RE: Thank You!|
Thanks for letting me know they are right side up. I meant to tell you, Sarah and William Moser share the same stone. Enjoy!

You are welcome. Are the pictures okay. I have been having trouble downloading pictures because I am using an iPad. I uploaded one for someone yesterday and it was upside down. Are any of the ones I added for you upside down or sideways?
