I have been interested in genealogy for over 30 years. I also enjoy locating old cemeteries and documenting burials before time and the elements prevent doing so. All of my family lines go back many generations in America with my main interests being in Kentucky, Virginia, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, the Carolinas and New England. My family and I have researched family lines on Steele, Ramsey, Taylor, Carter, Grandstaff/Grindstaff, Baker, Bowie/Buoy, High, Collier, McKenney, Prewitt, Peters, Whitehurst, Amis, Wood, Forsythe, Whitaker, Shisler, Dailey, Yardley, Irwin and Needham just to name a portion of our family tree. I am more than happy to share information, find cemeteries or assist in any way I can.|

|P Carter||Hi! Re-Samuel Hillman Carter-Son of Isaac P. Carter|
Hi! I am a cousin-in-law of Dan Rooney who is related to my husband through the brother of Samuel Hillman Carter (Isaac Gay Carter). I was researching some info at Find A Grave and found out you too are related to Samuel Hillman! I was the relative who happened upon the fact about Carter Motors (owner, Marvin Carter--a relative of Samuel Hillman); I read where Dan mentioned this to you! Dan knew about the history of James Dean and Carter Motors!
Anyway, my husband and I (via me through Ancestry, Facebook, and Find A Grave) would love to exchange information with you. So drop us a note and we can compare family info and find an intersect in the family tree!

So, your great-grandmother Madge Hazel Carter was a sister to Marvin Carter? If that's right, then you might already know that Marvin ran a motorcycle shop in Fairmount, Ind., where James Dean got his first bike.
|Dan Rooney||RE: Cousins|
Wow, I just met somebody on Ancestry who is researching her husband's Carter line. His line is also from Samuel Hillman Carter, then Asa Carter, Robert Bogne Carter, Myron Wilbur Carter (his grandfather)
Robert Bogne was a brother of Harmon Eugene Carter, who was your 2nd-great-grandfather?
|Dan Rooney||RE: Cousins|
Isaac Powers Carter and Joanna Gay are my 3rd-great-grandparents, and their son Isaac Gay Carter is my direct line through his son Lewis Carter, his son Oren Ray Carter and his daughter Doris Carter Rooney, who was my mother.
Dale, it appears we have common ancestors in Edward Carter and Esther Powers Carter. Edward and Esther are my 4th-great-grandparents.

|Samantha Rader||RE: Irvin Steele|
That all sounds correct to me! My Grandmother is Patricia (Steele) Rader. I was actually born shortly after my great grandfather, Irvin passed away from cancer, but my family has done a wonderful job of keeping his memory alive. I was told that he was a perfect example of a christian man. I have dozens of pictures of him if you'd like to see. He founded and built the Full Gospel Holiness Church in Connersville i believe in the 50's or 60's. From my Grandma I have recorded stories about my great grandfather Irvin, the death of his son Michael, death of Irvin's sister Enda, and stories about her grandfather (my 2x grandfather) Andrew. I would love to here your stories!
My email is email@example.com
I am actually planning a Steele Family reunion, I invited all of Irvin's children (my great aunt's and uncle's) but if you would like to come you are more then welcome to come and invite more family. If that is something that you'd be interested in please let me know!
