John George Merkel, Sr
Hi, Charles. John Merkel, Sr., is my grandfather. Because of your posting this information, I was recently able to visit his grave site at Blue Bonnet Hill Cemetery. My father, John George Merkel, Jr., and grandmother, Ruby E Merkel (Wright) are all buried there, as well. I'm just wondering what relation you are.

RE: Wm Holloway
The removal data is from the original burial register of the cemetery; it means he was originally buried in AL before being removed to Chattanooga.

RE: McGinnis
You are very welcome. I'm working on having photo's to all of the memorials. It will take awhile but hope to get it done. Will be able to take more photo's now since it has gotten cooler. Thanks, Henry

You're welcome! I actually made a second trip over there because I wasn't happy with the quality of the first pic. Batteries in my camera died and had to use the Ipad. But I believe both months are Feb.

RE: Excellent!
Your quite welcome for the photos. The other's buried in the same plot as Sallie are as follows:

Carrie Adams
F.M. Adams

Zollie DeJarnett (wife of W.Y. DeJarnett)

Emma M. Gatewood (wife of P.M. Gatewood, and daughter of T.S. & N.C.L. Cain, Aged 26yrs)

Tommie Gatewood (Aged 7 months)

Hattie A. Mabry

Jefferson C. Mabry

Lula M. Mabry (Aged 24 yrs 1 month 24 days)

*All have memorials on Find A Grave*

Sallie's year of death according to the transcript of CMC appears to be 1871. And they have a notation, most likely taken from the inscription on the headstone, that she was 15 yrs. old at the time of her death.

Anyway, hope this information has been helpful in finding out more of your family history.

RE: Jones family members at Shiloh Presbyterian Cemetery in Mississippi
Charles: You're very welcome and yes, P.G. Jones' broken marker appeared to be old marble. As a side note, while there I discovered, photographed and added another six Jones family members to F.A.G. If you would like, I will transfer them to you since I am not related.
thx, Mike
