RE: William Verney Glover
Hello Rod,
I do have an index cd which has been produced by the Leicestershire and Rutland Family History Society and there is only one Varney (spelt with an a) buried at Houghton on the Hill:

Mary Varney, aged 72 was buried on 18th October 1815.

There are 5 Glover's buried at Houghton on the Hill, the first 3 had an address as Houghton on the Hill:
Ann Glover, aged 2 was buried on 1st July 1838
Thomas Glover, aged 71 was buried on 30 September 1864
Thomas Glover, aged 63 was buried on 19 July 1827

These 2 had an address as 'Leicester' and are also buried at Houghon on the Hill:

Sarah Glover, aged 84 buried 15 August 1847
William Glover, aged 66 buried on 13 April 1828

If I do get to the church sometime, I will have a look

Hi Rod
I am pleased that my photographs are being found and proving useful and I have transferred ownership to you.
There have been a lot of changes in the grounds at Leicester Cathedral (St Martins Church as it was known) especially following the internment of Richard III and many of the headstones have been moved either to Welford Road Cemetery or Saffron Hill Cemetery in Leicester. The remains have not been disturbed are still buried in the grounds of the Cathedral.

RE: Hirst Family@ Warstone Lane and Keystone

Have added detail views of plot P-1504. If I get the time to give the stone a wash & brush-up in the summer I will replace with more readable photos. Have also pictured section B at Key Hill. No memorials are currently visible in this area.

Hirst @ Warstone Lane & Key Hill

If you care to list the other Hirsts at Warstone Lane as photo requests i'll make more detailed photos and add them to the Find A Grave memorials.

I have added photos to George Hirst and will add various close ups to the others in plot P1504 within the next few days. Note the photos are very high resolution and will enlarge considerably. They are however still difficult to read due to fungal growth and moss on the stone. To get good photos the stone really needs a good clean (just scrubbed clean with water). If you remind me sometime in the summer I'll give it a go. The stone itself is intact and should clean up ok. Note that the memorial states that Mary Ann (d.1874) died in Southport, a coastal resort just north of Liverpool.
