|I have been interested in genealogy for over 5 years now while doing extensive research as well. I am here to help maintain those accounts of members from my tree and link them together. I deeply thank those people who take the time out of their day to make this website what it is! without people like you, many families would still be in the dark. |

|Calmly Searching||RE: Error|
No problem. I spoke with some of the family shortly before Thanksgiving. The following is what I was told:
At the time the Davis family had gathered their "proof" of Native American ancestry, the paper work had been filled out and sent with some official working for the government. The train he was a passenger on derailed and caught fire and the papers were destroyed, the ones the family had filled out and the "only" original documents.
After that terrible event, the Davis families decided not to pursue it, as they were told there was nothing the government could do.
I was disappointed to learn this, but I do understand the barrier to prove the family heritage.
Hope this helps.

Well Ms. Sheltered Life, I was happy to have helped you. I am going to take another picture or your g's grandmother stone, it was raining and dark by the time I got to her so hopefully you will see a difference.
|Calmly Searching||RE: John Henry Davis|
Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you. I have been out of state, and hoped when I came home to (re) find the newspaper article that John Henry Davis did with a reporter in Colorado.
It was in the article that he made that statement. Every thing here is being remodeled, and the documents I have are packed and unsearchable at this time.
When I can get to them again, I will scan the clipping and add it to his memorial page. At that time, I will leave another message for you and let you know.
I can also try to get ahold of his daughter, and ask her.
Thank you for your enquiry.

Sure, you can use the photos. Good luck, and I will be checking your information to see if I can add my info to my family too. :)

Hi, What is the relationship of Emma Smith and Emma Childs....
I have Charles Lewis Kalber being married to a Emma Smith and her obituary reads...
Mrs Emma Kalber, 77 years old, died at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday night at her residence, 1401 South 4th Street, she is survived by a daughter Mrs Ruth Childs of Terre Haute, a sister Mrs Minnie Welch of Terre Haute; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, the body was taken to Gillis Memory Chapel.
I question the maiden name of Childs for Emma because her daughter married into the Childs family... I am confused by this...can you help?
