RE: Randal
You are so welcome.
Kim & I were neighbors as kids, 8 or 9 years old. Funny, I never knew his first name. He could play baseball! He was well liked in school, not a trouble maker. If you had rather make his memorial, I will gladly delete mine.

HI Brenda,

I saw your message and was wondering if you know who Elizabeth's parents were?

Hello ya'll!! I'm not sure how I got here but I'm glad to find someone who seems to know something about my mother's family. I am the great great grand son of William Wade Cowan who is the father of George Washington Cowan, who is the father of George Hillary Cowan, who is the father of my mother Dora Lillian Cowan. I believe the Cowan's had Cherokee blood in the family but my mother seems to know very little about that and I am trying to find out where the obvious Indian blood originated from. We had thought the William Wade Cowan was mostly Cherokee or his wife or both. Do any of you know the story? If true, do you know how can I prove this to the US Govt?

Hi ,Brenda I've gone back to see why Sarah #15705507 has come up as a half sister to W.W. Cowen #65163797 . The only answer I have is the spelling of Cowen/Cowan has brought up some confusion. On Matthew's headstone it clearly says Cowen but his memorial says Cowan. We know his father was Edward (Ned) Cowen his son was Matthew Cowen and his son down our line was William Wade Cowen. All of the Cowen/Cowan named their children after each other adding to the mix up, and it continues on. Example William Wade Cowen is buried next to his wife Louisa (Hogan) Cowen but, her last named is spelled Cowan only adding to the confusion. The children of Matthew And Catherine (Catron)Trousdale Cowen are All blood siblings not half. I have noticed that sometimes the Find A Grave crew has added these designations to other files as well and not sure how to have them change it to reflect reality. If you come up with any answers please lets work on it.
Please note that on some of Matthew's military papers lists him as Cowan but he signs them as Cowen. His Bible Spells it Cowen . Of course you know he was a Capt. and could spell his name.
Blessing to you,Darlene

RE: Williamson Grave Photo Added
Thank you very much for the photo and the transcription. Without the transcription, I don't think I would have been able to make out the lettering. I've never seen a headstone like this one where no individual markers were done. I wonder who and when this headstone was added. Again, thanks for your perseverance during this bad winter season.

RE: Ivan Cowan
I am not related. Since the original contributor has passed, I requested they transfer some of her memorials to me to make the system work better. I have been going through each memorial to make sure all is correct with dates and links.
