FAG Memorial #120596271
Hello, and thank you for the additional information about this memorial. Since you are related to Bess Allison Christman I took the liberty of transferring her memorial to you. I hope this meets with your approval.

If there is anything I can help with in the Springfield, IL area, please feel free to ask.

My best,
Bill

FAG photo Rollin Edgerton, Arkansas
I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "old soldiers" that had ties to Vt. Rollin Edgerton is one such soldier. May I use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave Memorial, to post on the Vt. C.W.site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

RE: Benner Genealogy
From the 1850 census this information is provided: Name: Elizabeth Benner
Age: 61
Birth Year: abt 1789
Birthplace: Maryland
Home in 1850: Benton, Knox, Missouri, USA
Gender: Female
Family Number: 34
Household Members:
Joseph Benner 24
Christopher Benner 27
Elizabeth Benner 61
{Her oldest two sons, Elias and David had married and lived in houses on same block.}

From the 1860 census is this:
Name: Elizabeth Benner
Age: 70
Birth Year: abt 1790
Birth Place: Maryland
Home in 1860: Benton, Knox, Missouri
Post Office: La Belle
Household Members:
Christopher Benner 35
Mariah J Benner 25
Jacson Parish 6
Elizabeth Benner 70

This is the last I find on her:listed as Bennel
Census Jul 1865 Gilmer, Adams, Illinois

Illinois State Census, 1865 -- Elias Bennel --- Gilmer, Adams, Illinois--- Number of White Males 3--- Number of White Females 4---- Page 71
I have found all 4 boys stones but can't find hers and I don't know her maiden name. Some think it is Showman, some say Bowers, but I haven't found any proof for any of them. She is not in the 1870 census with her sons. Thanks, Carmen

Benner Genealogy
My 3rd great-grandmother was Elizabeth Benner, according to all census records from 1840 to 1865 she claims to have been born in Maryland and also her husband and children, Elias, David, Christpher and Joseph was probably born in VA. I have no idea who my 3rd great grand-father is, and our family has been searching since 1997 for him. While Elizabeth and the boys moved to Missouri prior to 1840, there is not mention of him. Would you be able to help with this, or recomend someone to me for help? Carmen Benner Chilson

Thank you for the birthday correction notice. I didn't originally input the info and thought I had caught errors, but obviously missed that. As far as the place, I will have to check my records. Are you related to the Lakins or Sheets?

Thanks for the corrections.

I have found that not only have death Certificates been wrong, so have tombstones, marriage records, and peoples memories. LOL

If you would like me to transfer memorials to you just let me know.

I suspect that a sac slipped thru. I do not think that I approved such. I approved a birth Month and Day recently. Thank you very much for catching this. See Abraham Easterday -- Frederick County -- Maryland with link to Benjamin Lakin.
