If you have your Dad's Lucky Bsg you will not need this, But I locate individual pages from the scanned collection accessed from the Nimitz Library, download them and crop out graduation photos to post to memorials in my '1953 Classmates' virtual cemetery. If you need me to do so, I will try to do it for your Dad's memorial when it is created.I intend to do the same for his classmate Dick Vardy who was my company officer my last year and whose wife was a friend of my wife at Sweetbriar College a few years before Marian became my wife.Under Vardy's tutelage our company won the color competition.

I checked the Register of Alumni and see that your Dad was in 1946, as were my company officers in 1950-1953. 1946 graduated in 2945 under wartime acceleration, only four years before your uncle, whose classmates awaiting their slots at Pensacola or in USMC Basic School were the plebe summer indoctrination detail for my class that entered in June 1949. They were the ones who taught us to march in step with one another, and to turn together or in column on command. Enlisted sailors, all NCOs and very experienced seamen, taught us to tie knots, row pulling whaleboats, and to sail Knockabout sloops, ketch rigged sailing whaleboats, and 30 foot Academy yawls.

RE: Wilfred Alan
Thank you for providing your uncle's rank.

My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father. At an appropriate time, the Military Hall of Honor would be grateful if you would create an honoree record for him.

Wilfred Alan "Bill" Bacchus
The first sentence of his obituary says, "Wilfred Alan Bacchus passed away peacefully on December 9, 2012, the 86th anniversary of his birth." See the obit at:

I have transferred management of his memorial to you so you can use whatever DOB you find to be accurate.

By the way, do you know his rank at retirement? If you do, please let me know what it was so I can include it in his honoree record in the Military Hall of Honor.

I don't get many messages on this site and had a heck of a time staying logged in to get to your message. I am not sure what you are referring to or who. Please advise.

I took his graves photo today. Cannot tell you anything about him or his wife. I can tell you his grave was in the same block as Nicholas and Margaret Fournell Bouche, along with John Klein, Anton and Anna Klein and their 3 children. Sorry, I can't help you more. Denise

just got a notice on findagrave. Check memorial # 34765359. You may already be aware but just in case, I thought you would want this one for sure.

RE: Ethel Bacchus
The three Bacchus--James E., Ethel, and Sidney E.--are right together. As you would be facing the markers, they are also in that order from left to right. The other one that you knew about is in the mausoleum which is about 1 block to the south. In Find-a-Grave I added new pictures of the two men's memorials as person could not read the ones that were there. I added a picture of Ethel's marker and a picture of all three of the markers to Ethel's. You can look at them there. Glad we could help.
