I discovered "genealogy" for the first time in 1962 when my family visited a distant cousin in Shell Knob, Missouri. Dorothy Roden was a farmer's wife who had drawers of newspaper clippings, articles and could quote family history from memory. While visiting this same area in 1957, I accompanied my grandparents to a cemetery where I observed my grandfather cut grass from the graves of his parents and brother.

I moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1968, and when downtown one day, walked into the Fort Worth library just to see the inside of the unusual structure. I discovered that they had a genealogy collection. I picked up a book or two and soon found the name of my most distant relative (provided by Dorothy Roden above). I was hooked. I began to collect data and keep it in a file folder.

A few years later my eldest son gave me Family Tree Maker as a birthday gift. When I had finished entering all the info in my file folder into the data base, I realized how LITTLE I actually knew.

I developed a thirst to track all major family lines backward as far as possible.

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Robinson Williams, Memorial #14307388
I'm not sure if you can offer me any information or not, but I am researching an ancestor of mine named Robert Williams. I have been trying to determine who his parents are & have come across H G Williams & Elizabeth Robinson Williams as possibilities. I'm not sure who input the information on Lizzie's page, but it mentions "family lore". I'm trying to find someone with information on this family's Robert. He shows on the 1880 census with this family in Arkansas. My great-great-grandfather, Robert Williams came to Arkansas from Alabama, but I don't have any more information than that. He lived out his life in Lee Co/Monroe Co Arkansas, which is very close to the Phillips Co on this family's 1880 census. I'm trying to determine if this Robert & my Robert are the same. Can you offer any more additional information or know of someone that might have further information on the family? Thank you so much for your time!!

Isham Hall Williams
Larry, thank you for the picture of Isham. I had wondered how many of the Hall decendents were actually short. I have a picture of my 2nd great grandfather Winfield Scott Hall on a horse and it looks like they were both about the same height. Winfield was Isham's 1st cousin once removed. They were both grandchildren of Isham Hall Sr and Mary Mullins Hall.

Larry: tanks ever so much for your short biographies on individuals interned in the cemetery. Your comment regarding John Peters marrying Lucinda Harbert, being close neighbors, has solved a mystery for me in tracking down the path in life taken by Francis Marion Harbert.

Ruth A Madison
Hi, while taking the photo for Corley I found one for Ruth; is this someone you know and would like to create a memorial for? I could add the picutre if so. Her dates are;
birth; May 26, 1915
death; October 23, 1992
I was unable to find any headstone for Lawrence either in Block 20 or Block 4, at least at the Lots that were given. You may want to recheck with the cemetery office for a better location. I will unclaim for now.
Blessings,
Martie

Elizabeth Wood Wilson
I think she is the daughter of Solomon O. Wood and sister to Samuel O. Wood (who is buried in the same cemetery). Samuel named one of his daughters Elizabeth. If this is true, she may have a nephew, John R. Wood and a niece, Janetta Wood Witt also buried in that cemetery.

Just a note to let you know - Webb Co. is not an option for Joplin, Missouri. The system shows Jasper Co. or Newton Co.
You can let me know which it is.
Thanks! Carla

RE: Hardridge Photos
Your welcome. Glad I was able to help. BTW, having the section, block and lot numbers was a big help. I usually have to stop by the office to get those. The lady there is very helpful but is also very busy and I hate to bother her.
