RE: Paul J. Schmidt
Would you like to manage his memorial?

Hi Martha. Is it memorial no. 158821221? I probably found this photo in a book about Detroit, but unfortunately, I neglected to add that information to the photo caption. Are you sure it's the same Paul that is your relative? I have him born in Michigan, not Germany.... buy that could be wrong. Barb

The graves are located in the old section of the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. If you look at the cemetery listing and photos, a more exact location is given. Since there were only four marked graves in the old section, it was decided not to give each cemetery its own name.

RE: Mary & Jonathan Andrews
I spoke with residents of Pleasant Ridge and a member of the Old Canada Historical Society and on 6/18 we are to look at three or four unnamed cemeteries in the area. I am told that we will probably find an Andrews plot in one of them. We'll let you know!

I have also made some inquiries to the FindAGrave contributor(Lin), the Old Canada Rd Historical group and Pleasant Ridge town office. I would really like to figure out in what cemetery the person took the photograph of Jonathan Andrews grave! If I learn anything, I will let you know. Thanks for replying.

RE: Russell
Hi Martha,
I added photos for one or two more Russells who are not buried with the others in Arlington, as well as adding new photos for some of the Russells for whom I had already added a photo. I took the photos last year, but just had the chance to sort and upload them today. Hope you find them useful.

RE: Shattuck
Dear Martha,

You are very welcome. If you could please leave your requests on the photo requests list, so others who come after you looking for those Shattucks will learn that there are no gravestone for them.

Shattuck graves in Watertown, Mass.
The only Shattucks that seem to have stones are 2 Johns and 2 Williams.

This very old graveyard has lots of old stones, but also lots of open space where there are probably graves but with no stones or markers. In the past I have tried to find some of the graves requested with no luck. This week I discovered that a Harvard graduate made transcriptions of all the stones that could still be read in the mid-19th century before he died prematurely. Sixteen years later a friend or relative organized the transcriptions, added research on the those named on the stones, indexed it, and had it published in 1869 as Epitaphs from the old burying ground in Watertown.
If you wish to pursue this further, I ask that you call the Watertown DPW and ascertain that indeed this person in buried there and HAS a gravestone, then let me know, I will gladly go searching for it and take a photo for you with pleasure.
