Hello. Ruby. I did not write the information on the site. I do not dare to correct it or to notify anyone about it. Read the stuff that has been printed on my page about me from them. I will research my own private records. I know people have gotten the name mix up with someone else in this family line, that is the two Martha Jane's. I think you for your e mail and your information.

|Marsha Holder||RE: The many wives of John J. Smith|
I have heard two different stories about the Howell-Smith Cemetery. One was that the county road was moved and the cemetery was destroyed in the process. The other story and the one I come nearer believing is that the land owner built his barn over the cemetery and used the headstones for steps. I also have read in the cemetery book I believe that one of the Howell headstones was saved and moved to the Holley Cemetery not far from the Howell-Smith Cemetery.
I had seen the headstone request by George T. Smith. Do you know where he's buried. Would like to get him linked to John J. Smith. Marsha

Hi Ruby, I added some info to John's memorial to include the three marriages and census records and burial info. I also included a link to the one daughter, Willie Mary Smith Carpenter. Do you by any chance know where Nancy Wright Hare Smith is buried? There's a Hare Cemetry by Mt Pleasant but it wasn't started till after her death. Also one infant daughter born and died in 1886 is not listed in some family trees. Don't know where she might be buried. Marsha
