Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an avid genealogy and family history researcher. All of my ancestors were in Monroe County Indiana by the 1850's -- most by the 1820's. I do research there and am particularly familiar with the cemeteries of that area.I am equally enthusiastic about the ancestors of my husband who are primarily located in the Missouri counties of Franklin, Saline, Howard, and the counties around Kansas City.Always glad to share information when asked. You may use my photos as long as credit is given.Just use the Edit button on any memorial you would like updated. I follow Find a Grave guidelines on transfers of memorials.

RE: Thanks!
Hi Connie.

Yes, Amy and James Henry Skirvin were my great-grandparents. We've been in contact on Ancestry.com, where I am William Smith. I still remember Amy's funeral in Bloomington. I was too young to understand it all, and I cried a lot...why not, others did, too, right?

I sent you a message on Ancestry on May 21 about my trip to Bloomington.

It looks like my nearest Kitchen ancestor was Mary Ann, married to John Skirvin. Is that our connection?

RE: Thanks!
You're very welcome. Still looking for the others. There are several down, almost unreadable stones in that area. Very sad.

RE: Branams
Happy to do it. Please note that I found Nellie's marker in lot 11 next to Virginia's. However, my edit to correct the burial from lot 258 to 11 was declined.

Samuel T. Steinmetz
Hi Connie,
Is your husband related to the Steinmetz family? I always heard they came from a well-to-do family in Missouri. I have a single snapshot of him with my aunt Ginger from around 1980, and should really look for that to post.
