|John Gagen||RE: Melissa Blowers|
Tara, Very interesting! I have been researching Melissa's father for many years and it has been somewhat of a "brick wall" in that I tracked him till the 1895 NJ state census then nothing. Some of his family are buried at Hamilton cemetery but I have yet to find a grave for him nor any references to his parents. Census records conflict as to his birthplace of Canada or NY. In 1890 he made a statement at the surrogates office in Freehold about changing his name to Brower and this fact had been written about in an old copy of the GSNJ magazine in the 1980's. I obtained a copy of Melissa's mother's death certificate and she is using the name of Ellen Browers upon her death in 1886. I an on ancestry.com but my records are private as they change with added information and I don't want to perpetuate genealogical errors that are abundant on ancestry.com. I would be happy to send you an invite on ancestry.com to view these records knowing that it is a "work in progress" and is changing as information is found and corrected. Just let me know your ancestry.com user name so I can send the invite.
