Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am following these families: Rooney, Carter, Bott, Gilmore, Best, Sargent, Wilson, Giblin, McGurl, among others.
I was born and raised in Muncie, Ind., where the Rooneys came by way of Ironton, Ohio. The Carters came from Matthews, Ind.; the Botts from central New York and northwest Ohio; and the Gilmores from Lawrence and Gallia counties in Ohio.

RE: Cousins
Sorry a little slow replying. Yes I was vaguely aware of her having a brother who ran a bike shop but was not aware of the James Dean connection. I looked in to it further and seemed like quite a business he had. Thanks for helping to keep these memories alive.

Dan

Pleasure meeting you. It would seem we share their son Isaac Powers Carter and Joanna Gay as well. Their son Samuel Hillman Carter is my line. Best I can tell we would be 4th cousins. I've been working on the Carter line some over the years. My great grandmother is Madge Hazel Carter. I got to know her as a child but never knew too much about her family until recently. It looks like you've got some quality research to go through.

RE: Trott line
Dan as we well know in this land of geneology 5th cousins are actually VERY close! I've made friends with another gentleman who's also my dads 5th cousin, who descends from the williams line, from one of Lucy Williams uncles. I'm actually headed to Maine the last week of July for a research trip. I've got appointments at the Belfast, auburn, Lewiston and New England historical societies. Even though my grandparents married in San Francisco in 1921 BOTH their lineages go back to Maine! I'm really looking forward to a whole week of digging through anything they'll let me get my hands on. My ancestry tree is the Trott/Berning tree, maybe I heave some more info that may be of interest. I've been at this for 5 years since I found over 100 worth of family history in my grandpas garage, 20 years after he died! I'll let you know if I find anything more of our ancestors!

RE: Fr. Greiwe
Dan, you have my permission to use the photo in future applications. I got to meet Fr. Ed just once not long before he passed away -- a good guy.

RE: Gilmores
The marker for the infants is plural, so there are at least 2 infants.

A review of the records shows that the male infant was their 1st child and was stillborn and Oscar was Minnie's 3rd child.

By 1900 Minnie was a widow and had given birth to 3 children and only Oscar was still living. So I would say that there are only 2 infants in the plot.

There was a female Gilmore baby that died in Cabell County in 1892 at 1 day old but no parents are listed. So that might be the missing baby. The cemetery may be able to confirm who is in the plot. The ladies there are usually very nice.

Hope this helps. I have updated the listings and linkages.

RE: Mildred Rooney
Hi Dan,

You are very welcome. Mildred's sister, Catherine Clouse Hunt is my great-grandmother. As you can see, I did not create those memorials, but I did submit the family relationships to link everyone up.

Regards,

Kent
