I descend from old southern families as Deriso, Thigpen, Puckett, Massey and Jackson; and my husband's family lines include a North Carolina pioneer family, the Glazeners. He also descends from Fraley and Sloan.

Peter E Holliday
Hi Karen! I wanted to ask you about Peter E Holliday. Do you have his parents or grandparents? I see you have you are descended from a North Carolina pioneer family, would that be Henry Holliday Sr? I too am descended from Henry Sr. through his son Henry Jr and John C Holliday. I have tried to find any info I can on Henry Jr and have not been able to find anything. Would you happen to know anything? Even stories, as that could give me clues. Thank you! Anita Holliday Bienvenu

RE: fannie mcreynolds
Kare, the reason I was asking all questions, the nephew of Fannie said he didn't remember a marriage, but that she did have children, according to the census, she shows 3 children, Millard Filmore, William and John living in household with father Joseph, sister Piscilla and Joseph. I don't find her in any census after 1860. I have talked to William's family, and they say they don't know who parents are. His death death certificate says his father was Joseph, which I believe was his grandfather, and that his mother was listed as his Dathia, which was his wife. Don't know if you will understand this, but this was the best way I can tell it, but this doesn't make it true.

William James Newton
Looking for more info on William James Newton. Trying to find more on his marriage, proof ?, to Cynthia Elizabeth Massy Newton (2nd marriage to McQuirt) and family. My grandmother had in her notes that William James and Cynthia were married and had child, Mary Virginia Newton (my gg grandmother) who married James Thomas Pelham, 17 Dec 1876 in Macon CO, GA. I find in the 1850 census in Macon CO, GA, William James with parents, Daniel (Jeptha) and Elizabeth (Brown) Newton. In 1860 Taylor CO, GA, William J. Newton,24, and Cynthia (Syntha Massey), 21, with children Mary V., 3, and William G., 1.
Mary Virginia's obit states she was born in reared in Taylor CO, GA, although no parents are listed, so think I have the family connected.

Thomas Hobby Puckett
Hi Karen - there are two Thomas Puckett's that get mixed up on a lot of trees. The Thomas you have listed I believe has a father of Richard Puckett. He did go by Thomas Hobby Puckett. As you read through the reference "Roots and Branches of some of the Puckett's, it does state this. It says that Thomas's wife is Mary but no last name. Anyway, it is a little unclear about some of the details of Thomas - even the middle name Hobby.

Now the Thomas Puckett who was born in 1745 and died in 1805 had parents of Isham Puckett and Martha Page. There is another book called "Thomas Puckett of Travis County, Republic of Texas" that describes this Thomas. You can get this book on Family Search. Thomas's descendants eventually move to Indiana and end up in Texas

I would love to communicate with you to see if we can come to an agreement on these two gentleman. Maybe I am missing something.
