Greetings,

Find A Grave contributor J.M.F. has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Moses Shoffstall.
Link to memorial: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-
Jan,
Unfortunately, I cannot locate the source of this data, except to say it was received via edit update.

If you think this is in error, I can transfer this monument to you for administration...let me know.

Burke

Please share the source that leads to Moses parents - Ludwig (Lewis) Shoafstall and Rebecca instead of Peter Shofstall and Catherina Hoffman?? I am not aware of any documented source for his parents.
My gr-gr grandfather is Michael, (1838-1912) his death certificate listed Moses Shofstall and Elizabeth Saladay as parents.
I'm from Tampa Bay the past 35 years.
Welcome to Florida!

RE: Lancaster rural cemetery Rufus Leonard Fisk
Hi Jan
Unfortunately, I cannot view the death certificate. The link takes me to a page to take out a trial membership (even when I'm logged in as a non-paying member). I'll shoot a quick email off to you in hopes of you being able to attach it as a reply. Kathi

RE: Fisk - Lancaster Rural Cemetery
Hi - thank you for the reply. Let me know what you find when you get the death Certificate. It will be interesting to see how he connects to Capt' William Fisk who died in 1845. I can't tell how old he was though; I'll see if I can pick up an age at death from the stone next time I'm there. I'm guessing it's the War of 1812, but it could be the Rev. War depending on his age.

Fisk - Lancaster Rural Cemetery
I saw your photo request for Rufus Fisk. The cemetery records indicate he is buried in Row 4 of section O. I have been photo-documenting stones in this cemetery for three years and his stone (if he has one) is definitely not in that row.

It's almost as if *someone* entered that section and row simply because that's where all the other Fisk's are. If Rufus does connect to this family, he would have to relate to Capt' William Fisk (somehow).

Anyway, I have never seen a stone for him, but it is possible that A) he doesn't have one or B) he is buried elsewhere in the cemetery.

Is your interest in his daughter Emma? Are you aware that it appears Rufus had two marriages (one prior to 1850 -she died before 1855- and the other after 1855 and before 1860) making the mother to Emma, Sarah (not Mary).

The above is only an observation when I compare the 1850, 1855, 1860, and 1865 census records for Rufus. I am however, confident it is the same Rufus as his occupation and age stay consistent (wheelwright/carriage/wagon maker).

One question for you; do you have his death certificate indicating who his parents are?

I will keep an eye out for a possible stone for him in other sections of the cemetery.

Regards,
Kathi

Frederich Earl Bass
JAN WROTE:

Hi Winnette
I claimed memorial#35047448.
I doubt Fred R Bass located at Sunset Memory Gardens and Fred E Bass are the same one out of four Fred Bass possibilities.
Fred R Bass at Sunset Memory Gardens will be sharing a crypt at Chapel of Peace with someone who is still living.
Out of respect for the living I don't think the picture should be posted at this time.
If you disagree and/or want/have more information, e-mail me Jan :-)
...........
Jan,
I have no idea what you said above, except you claimed my memorial for Frederich Earl Bass. I will guess you are probably claiming it to make a photo.
As to the others, I don't know what you mean. What picture should I remove from, etc.

Winnette

I did not make the memorial(s), you will have to ask the person that made them. I only requested photos.

Hi,
Can you provide a source to name Moses as her father and proof that it's the correct Moses Shoffstahl ? I did locate her death certificate which names her parents as Moses & Elizabeth, but your link doesn't provide any significant proof that he is the correct Moses Shoffstahl. Thanks,Marianne

RE: Memorial Transfer request
Sorry for the typo error. As I no longer have control over the memorials, I think that you would need to contact the new person who maintains the memorials. I was never contacted by him that and error had been made. Gary
