RE: Isaac C Marquess
I had a few minutes so thought I would see what I could find on Ancestry regarding Isaac C and the "Kidd Marquess" line. Appears that someone has mistaken Isaac C Marquess with Isaac Taylor Marquess and listed Isaac C as the son of William Kidd Marquess and Sarah Taylor. Once someone list it, then it seems that everyone copies it without checking facts. Isaac Taylor Marquess was born 25 Apr 1772 Frederick Co, VA and died 29 Aug 1861 Marquess, Preston Co, WV. Of course Isaac C was born 1765 and died 1858. Everything I found on ancestry regarding Isaac C father is wrong --- I didn't see any credible info. thought I would pass this along.. Fay

RE: Isaac C Marquess
Thanks for the info. I only use Ancestry for my research. I believe he was possibly born in Opequon, VA -- the origin of the rest of the Marquis/Marquess/Marcus line -- so pretty sure he is from the same line. If you ever find something, please let me know. thanks Fay

Isaac C Marquess
Isaac C Marquis
I am currently doing research on the Marquess, Marquis, Marcus family. I came across Isaac C. Marquis - but have not yet identified his parents. I see from your note that he is your 3 g grandfather. Wondering if you know his parents name. Many researchers have him confused with Isaac Taylor Marquis who died in WV. Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks Fay Marcus

RE: Davidson connection
Dear April,
I noticed you are related to the Davidsons, as am I. My great, great grandmother, Melissa Ann Davidson (1835-1898) married Leander Columbus Burkhart (1823-1875) in 1851. Melissa Ann was a daughter of Hezekiah Davidson and Melissa "Lucy" Ann Page Davidson; they were Oregon Pioneers of 1847. I've traced my Davidson linage back to Scotland in the 1400's, if you are interested. Hezekiah Davidson was a son of John Davidson and Rachel Ellis. John Davidson was a brother to Elijah Barton Davidson, who came to Oregon in 1850, settling in Monmouth, Polk County, Oregon; more family members arrived in 1852 and many Davidsons settled in Jackson Co., Oregon. I am still adding family onto my family tree!

Pearl Bogue Glenn/Lucinda Pritchett
Lucinda Pritchett Bogue was my great grandmother and Alvena Bogue, Pearl Bogue's younger sister was my grandmother. Alvena Bogue married Herman Clum in 1916 after the death of her mother and father. They had 9 children. Doris Clum Hart still survives and lives in Eugene, Oregon. I am just completing a biography on the Bogue family and actually remember meeting Pearl Glenn many times at family reunions in the 1960's. Doris Hart has information and contact with Charles Glenn, Jr., family. I should be finished with my research on Charles Glenn in the next few weeks as Doris Hart is already getting contact information for me on the descendants of Charles, Jr. You may contact me at jack.shew@yahoo.com or thru this post for more information on the Bogue/Pritchett history.

This makes me excited. I have one photo of Mahala Jane Lomax with her husband Thomas Terry/Terry Thomas Ferrell/Farrell. Let me know if you don't have it and I will send it to you.

Ida Deweese & Family
Hello, I seen that you are a great granddaughter of Ida Deweese King. Her mother, Mahala, married my third great grand uncle, Thomas Terry. Do you have any photos by chance of Thomas Terry and his family? I am hoping you are able to help me. I descend from his half brother, Felix Newton.
