Find a Grave ID

Bio

Hi. I've been working on genealogy since 1987 and have been totally crazy about it ever since.

Just to let everyone know...I truly enjoy going out on photo request adventures and for those that I am able to fulfill, I want you to know that I do my utmost to trim back the grass and weeds, if any, growing around the grave markers. I only use water to wipe off the dirt so as not to cause any damage to a marker. I'm pretty sure they are getting used to seeing this crazy person with her bag of garden tools and brushes running around the cemetery so it's all good. To everyone I can help... You are so very welcome! I love doing it and I almost come to think of your relatives as part of my family, too. Yes, I do sometimes talk to them. So, Thank You for getting me out of the house and into the sunlight for some much needed exercise and for letting me be of service to you!

P.S. Just a side note: Since the weather here in So. California in the summer can get extremely warm, I have to limit my time in the heat so I can't get out to roam the cemeteries as often as I would like. Photo request adventures are limited to cooler or overcast days, shady hillsides and lawns or inside mausoleums. As soon as Summer ends and the temps drop, I will be back out, full force!

P.P.S. I have spent the last year and recently finished walking and recording all names from visible grave markers (except for Muslim Gardens, which is fenced in and locked and the Columbarium of Eternity, both of which are all in foreign script/language) the Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia, California and have now started my second pass to catch the new/recent 2017-2018 burials and recently added grave markers. If they have a marker, I can find your request. There are 60 names currently on the photo request list either do not have a marked grave or are not interred in this cemetery. I have repeatedly tried to get location information from the people in the front office, but they continually and conveniently blow off my requests. Hence, I took it upon myself to undertake my own indexing.

I humbly beg anyone requesting a burial/photo request search at the Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia, California location, to please call the cemetery and get the location of your loved one before posting your requests as they may be more apt to respond to you than me. (I'm pretty sure they are tired of seeing me walk into their lobby with my list of names.) The more information, the better. If there is no grave marker for a person, ask for the names of the people buried next to them, above them, below them. This way I can still maybe find the grave and take an area location photo. Your help in this situation is so greatly appreciated! Thank You!
