Hi, I have been doing family research since 1970. I have learned a lot in that time. I have a pretty good library, mostly dealing with royal ancestors. If you have questions or need a picture in the Shelton area, get in touch.

My website is very new and I am constantly adding to it. If you find any mistakes on the site, please leave me a message about the change and your source please.

Robert R Rigney 1860-1912
Old Pioneer Cemetery, Tacoma WA

Hi, Patrick, I think the middle initial for Robert Rigney is "P". According to Wa St Death Record on his page his middle name is Patrick. I was there on Thursday, and even though, the headstone is a little dirty , I believe it is a "P".

James Garmon Rigney
Re: Old Pioneer Cemetery, Tacoma
I think the photo on his record is his grandfather.
WA Death Record shows his father is Robert R Rigney.
Robert's father James Rigney 1823-1892 is the photo shown. Thanks

James Garmon Rigney
Hi Patrick,
Looking at records for Old Pioneer Cemetery in Tacoma I noticed James Garmon Rigney (1858-1960), which would make him 102 at the time of his death, but the Death record from Wash St Death Records attached states he was 61 at the time of his death. I now see it must be a typo and should be birth year of 1898 possibly.

I am thrilled to report I am down to 950 memorials from 2800! Your willingness to foster has only made this possible. I apologize for the slow sending as I am reading each one that has biographies. Amazing work Dale did! Again thanks so much for stepping up to help out. I'm into the "M" surnames now so there are more on the way! Have a great weekend. Jen

RE: Transfer
I'm the one that created the cemetery on findagrave. People were originally posting the burials in Calvary cemetery. I had to ask questions at Calvary to make certain that they were two separate cemeteries. Then later gathered additional information online through Tacoma library. It's very interesting reading abt the Rigney's. All the records of the burials were lost in a fire. The only existing records are the ones after the fire and kept at Calvary. However, the death certificates available online may mention the burials of each person, which is helpful. I'm abt to transfer Mary & Martha Madden over to you. Have fun with your research. :)

RE: Transfer
Mary J. Madden, also buried at Old Pioneer, may be Ellen Madden Rigney's mother. If you'd like her transfered over along with Ellen's sister, Martha, let me know.

I believe Michael H. is no longer with us. I haven't heard from you or him in some time. email me @
The last time he wrote me, he said he had cancer, (I think of the bladder) and had surgery.

Your Dupont relative,

RE: Mistake
Hello, Patrick --
I did not create your father's memorial, so I cannot correct the death date. The person who created the memorial does not seem to respond to messages, so you could contact the administration at Find A Grave, and ask them to transfer the memorial to your care since it is your father.
Good luck,
