Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love genealogy. When I visit a cemetery, I often take more pictures than I need, and then post them, so maybe it will help someone else.

************PLEASE know that I have added a bunch of photos to be transcribed by others. While I appreciate the help, I have found NUMEROUS duplicates being created. If you find duplicates created by transcribers, please just let me know by using the edit tab and I will take care of them. **************

I have been working on taking pictures at Mount Ever Rest South in Kalamazoo, MI because I have been frustrated with the lack of assistance that I have receieved from the cemetery office in the past. I have taken all the pictures in Section A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, M, N, Q, R, T, V, W and Babyland I, J, K & L, the exterior chapel walls, and the Mausoleum (over 13,000 pictures). I am currently working on O, P, S and U and will work on more as I have time.

At Mount Ever Rest NORTH, I have taken all the pictures for Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the Mausoleum.

The vast majority of the memorials that I have created are done based on headstone pictures ALONE. I have pictures for almost all of the memorials that I have added. IF IT IS NOT POSTED YET, JUST ASK. Unfortunately, I do not have time to add all the pictures right now, so if you want a picture I am willing to post it, just let me know by REQUESTING IT BY clicking on the Photo request on the memorial page. Please understand that I take 100s of pictures at a time, so if the picture is not perfect or the stone is not completely cleaned off it is not due to a lack of respect, but rather a desire to record as many stones as possible in the small amount of free time I have.

I am willing to transfer any memorials WITHIN FIND A GRAVE RULES ("Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."), except those that are directly related to my family.

When requesting links, edits or transfers PLEASE use the edit button on the top of each memorial page. I get so many requests that it makes it difficult and time consuming to make all these changes. I will not make changes that do not come through the EDIT tab. Help me, help you...

I give permission to use my photos for personal use ONLY with proper credit given.

Smith J Hicks #140083280
Hi, Amy! Would you happen to have a photo of the headstone for Smith J Hicks in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park South? I am working on some genealogical research and getting marriage certificates for for a Bertha A and Bertha M as spouses of Smith J Hicks. He may have been married to both women, but the headstone you posted for Bertha M shows her buried with Duane L Hicks. I'm hoping that if you have a photo of Smith's headstone that Bertha A is nearby or that they share a headstone and I can put at least one piece of this mystery to rest. Thank you!

Photo request for Robert J. Paul. I have an Army Air Corps photo of a Muskegon veteran with the exact same name and am wondering if he is the same person.

RE: Mt. Ever-Rest South
I started getting photo's there in 2005. I've been laid up for a while with congestive heart failure, hope by spring i'll be good enough to get out to some cemeteries again. I had trouble with Mt. Olivet in Kalamazoo but I told a guy in the office that cemetery records are public information & he did some checking & now he is very helpful. I never thought doing things in cemeteries would be enjoying but after my father died I got started & now miss being able to wander around in them. Well, winter will be over soon so get out there & enjoy.

Mount Ever-Rest cemeteries
Mrs. Hohler, we need some help. We are certain the four men listed below (all Vietnam casualties) are in one of the Mount Ever-Rest cemeteries - probably "South" - but cannot prove burial location. If you have marker photos for any of them we would be very grateful to have a copy of the photo and certain knowledge of the cemetery.

The four men are listed as Name, Rank, Service, Date of Death
ESMAN, David H. SP4 Army 08/28/1967
KIRACOFE, Burley D. CPL Army 04/05/1969
LIPSEY, Thomas W. SP4 Army 02/06/1972
MORROW, Kenneth P. SGT Army 05/05/1968

I can be reached at e-mail virtualwall at

Thank you for your help...
