Bio and Links
Bio Photo I began studying geneology back in my teens. I took a 30 year hiatus, and have recently joined, and found hundreds of relatives. The spark has been rekindled, and a flame is burning brightly. I am also a freelance photographer, and hope to put that to good use here.

My family is deeply rooted in the mountains of N.Ga. My names of interest are Ray, Buchanan, White, Davis, Crowe, Townsend, Bramlett, and a host of others.

RE: Hales/Crowr
Silom Goode Hales was my great grandfather following the link I wonder why they do not show my grandfather Hubert Carl Hales as a son ? I see Blanch Parham listed I knew her as she was my great Aunt. My mother was named after my grandfathers mother Phoebe Josephine. My mother is Virginia Josephine Named for a grandmother from each parent.
I will have to ask my mother, who is still very much alive at age 86 and in good health about some of the other names listed. I don't recall the name Crowe
I do have Facebook I was unable to find your name. I am listed under Sharon Slater Miller

Doc Watson
Ray, I at this time am unable to gain access to his grave which is on private property. I'm posting 2 photos of his Sculpture in Boone. I am working on finding a contact who can get me permission to photograph his Tombstone.

I knew Doc, I used to take my Father and a man who grew up with Doc to see him quite often. Two of my good friends from Civil War reenacting years, David Holt and Jim Taylor worked with Doc on old tunes. Lyle D. Bishop III

RE: Parker/Roper
I'm sorry but I am not familiar with Parkersburg, or with any Roper connection in my direct lineage. I do have a few individuals with the Roper surname that connect with the Strain family, mostly in Macon County, North Carolina. They are in my book recently published on "The Strain Family: A Genealogy of the Descendants of Andrew Strain, Sr." (2nd Edition, 2016).
Best Regards,
Jim Parker

Find A Grave Memorial# 99306180
You have the "wrong" gravestone picture posted for Amanda (nee Evans) Farmer , wife of William James Farmer. This Amanda has "no grave marker" and is buried also at Bethesda Cemetery.

The picture you posted for Amanda (nee Carpenter)Farmer born 1871 died 1960, was the wife of James Marion (J.M.) Farmer, and there already is a picture posted at her memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 33714448.

Can you please "remove" this from Amanda (nee Evans) Farmer, born 1862 died 1948?

It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
