RE: Florence Parker
(Update: I think I found them. Scroll to the bottom of my message to see.)

I'm sorry if I am confusing you. Let me try to explain. Based on her obitz, she was born with the last name "Barnes." Her birth mother was a Davis.

Here is what her obitz says.

"Dolly Parker died early Saturday morning, December 6, 2014, in Brighton, surrounded by family. She was born on August 7, 1925 in Hayden, Colorado, to Waller and Mary Davis Barnes. Her mother died while Dolly was a small infant so she became a member of the family of George and Katharine “Kitty” Barnes Schulz."

After her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barnes, died, she went to live with Mr. and Mrs. Schulz. Based on the obitz, Mrs. Schulz had a maiden name of "Barnes." Mrs. Schulz was almost certainly related to Dolly's birth father, Waller Barnes.

Now if the obitz is wrong, then that is a different story. However, assuming it's correct, Waller Barnes just happens to have the same FIRST name as my 5th great uncle, Waller Davis, and coincidentally, his wife was a "Davis." To my knowledge, I am of no relation. "Mary Davis" is a VERY common name.

Now I did a quick search on ancestry.com and I came across a man named "Thomas Waller Barnes" who married a Mary E. Davis. He was born in 1890 in Missouri and died 1969 in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado. His wife died in 1925. I bet this is him. #28476459 Here is a link to his findagrave page. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=28476459&ref=acom

RE: Florence Parker
I apologize if I am just missing it, lol. I read her obitz and it says she was born to Waller and Mary Davis Barnes. It then says she went to live with George and Katherine Barnes Schulz. Based on what I am reading, that looks like her mother's maiden name was "Davis" and that she went to live with her aunt and uncle I assume, the Shulz family. From how it is written, it looks like the aunt had the maiden name "Barnes" likely making her Waller Barnes' sister. Am I missing something? If she is a Barnes, then no the name Waller is just a coincidence. However, if her mother's maiden name was "Davis" then it's possible we are related some where down the line. I would need to know the name of her mother's parents, and maybe even her grandparents to figure it out.

RE: Florence
Hi there,

I read your message and first off, I am unsure if I am related, that's the short answer, but I am also confused by what you said. If you can clarify, I can look deeper to see if I may be related. Was her mother's maiden name "Davis?" Was her father, Waller, a Davis or a Barnes? My family is Davis. Let me know and I'll see what I can find. :-)
