RE: John Painter
Thank you for the information and the usage of his photo. 1859 is obviously when he died but he was born abt 1787 as his stone lists he was 71 when he died which would be about right as he was the oldest son of the Painter family per records. Someone might have been guessing his birth year when they listed it. It is definitely a wonderful find.

Thanks,
Carol

I forgot to ask if I can make a copy and use it in my Ancestry tree with you listed as the source of the photo.

Thank you for your reply. I was just wondering if there was any other information on the back of the photo other then his name.

You added a picture of John Painter to his memorial in Greenwich Cemetery. Can I ask where you found it? I am researching the Painter family and am wondering if he might be a relative.

memorial booklet
Thank you, I would very much appreciate a copy of the memorial booklet. I am glad you collect old photos, I always hate to see family pictures at an estate sale knowing many may get tossed out if they do not sell.

RE: Memorial Pamphlet
Hi, Thank you for rescuing the memorial. Bessie Mae Roderick Lea is a distant relative of my husband's side of the family. She married Freeman Cranfill Lea who was the son of Joseph Addison Lea & Eda Person; Eda was the daughter of Hiram K. Person & Victoria Jennie Ross (my husband's family). I show Bessie having 2 children, but nothing about her parents at this time. There may be a closer family member that would like to have the Memorial Pamphlet, but I certainly would be interested in the information on the memorial.
