Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've spent many years researching ancestors who lived in eastern TN and southwest VA, but I'm a relative newcomer to findagrave.

The Doggett Cemetery is a small family cemetery located in Silvacola, Sullivan County, TN. It is also known as Harr Cemetery #3 (in "Families and History of Sullivan County, Tennessee Volume One 1779-1992"). It is located between Kingsport and Bristol, on the corner of Cold Spring Road and the Bristol Highway. It's geocode is 3634'24.43"N, 8222'53.09"W

In 2010 the little cemetery had been overrun with brambles, tall reedy grass and old tree stumps for 20 years. No gravestones were visible.

My father, Arthur Lowry Doggett, undertook the effort to clean up the cemetery in August 2010 and finished most of the effort by the summer of 2011. His son-in-law and nephew helped along the way. A huge amount of work was contributed by the owner of the surrounding property. Without his effort and equipment the clearing simply could not have been completed.

Dad took pictures at various times during the work to clear the cemetery. I did all the research to identify the individuals buried here and identified their relation to the Doggett family and their relationship to each other.

Arthur Jackson Doggett and Eliza Jane (Droke) who are buried in this cemetery are my Dad's great grandparents and he is named for his great grandfather, Arthur.

All of the people buried in this cemetery are related to Eliza Jane (Droke) Doggett.

RE: Droke Family
My hard drive crashed. Please email me at with your email. Have you been to my ancestry tree? Did I invite you? I think there is confusion about Jacob/s ancestry. I hope we get it settled. Jeri

info re: John Wesley Ketron and his brother PProf. Joseph H. Ketron
Hi Janet, I just wanted to let you know that although I did post the info on John W. Ketron, I did not post the grave marker on Prof. Joseph H. Ketron. I have a picture of John W. Ketron's stone somewhere, if I can find it I will post it.

RE: Dills Cemetery
According to the Scott County cemetery book they are all in the cemetery, along with the GPS co-ordinates. My husband and I found where the cemetery is located on Friday, but it was on private property and no one was home. I didn't want to trapsey around in someone's cow pasture (: So we will have to go back. We didn't actually get to see the cemetery but the book said in 1994 the stones were knocked over or missing due to cattle. It is located off Hwy 26 on Rt. 629 going toward Robinette Valley. I will put the GPS on the cemetery page as a grave site. I can't remember how you submit them. I will also scan the listing from the books (it was in two, but one was an update) and email them to you or I can just put them in the cemetery and transfer them. I will have to do all this tomorrow since it is out in my car and I am too lazy to go out in the cold (:

RE: James Polk Doggett
Hello Janet,

I did not create a memorial for James Polk Doggett so I cannot link his parents. Please go to his memorial # 47496951 and click on the "Edit" button on the right side - that will open a window - type in your request and it will be sent to the creator of the memorial for James.
