RE: Elizabeth E. Brugger
Thanks. If you get a chance would you change her name to Elizabeth Emma Barlett Brugger. Elizabeth is her first name and Emma the middle. One of her relatives sent me a message about it and they would like it changed. That is how her name was listed on her marriage record to Paul Brugger. Thanks again for your help. :)

RE: Arthur Lee Hoots
I attached his obituary as proof of burial since the burial records that are available for Orchard Hill don't list him. I did call yesterday and they confirmed what you said which did not surprise me since I was expecting it. I mainly called to learn how the records were put together. The woman I spoke with, while helping as much as she could, did not have a lot of information on that subject. I did get the impression the records where not taken from a an old central list compiled during when the burials were done at the cemetery. I was told there could be errors and mistakes. She said a lot of sources of information were from death records and obituaries they had gathered together. However the oldest obituaries I was told only went back as far as the mid 1960's. I'm guessing maybe they also had people walk the cemetery recording names from the gravestones as well to put the list together? Even if burials were possibly missed at least I'm glad a list was created.

I went ahead and removed the photo request since I believe there probably is no grave marker. I would not even know where to look in the cemetery for Arthur. None of his immediate family lived in Louisville. He happened to suddenly die here from a heart attack while visiting family of his wife Louisa or Lulu.

RE: Arthur Lee Hoots
I guess finding him depends how well the cemetery records were kept. One thing I've learned since joining Find a Grave are some cemeteries did not keep the best records for burials. If a record book was created in 1964 makes me suspect maybe the cemetery didn't keep good track of who was buried in the cemetery before then. If they tried to create a list at that time a lot of burials could have been missed. Probably mostly unmarked graves would get omitted if a list were created after years of neglect. Have a feeling that might be what happened with Arthur and it would not be the first time I have run across a situation like this.

Thanks again for the information. Will try to make some calls today to see if I can find out anything. I do have a couple of sources claiming burial at Orchard Hill. So maybe if nothing is found I can send information I have for him.

Thank you so much for adding the photo of Victor Allen Hale Find A Grave Memorial. I appreciate it. If he is a relative I would be glad to transfer Victor's Find A Grave Memorial over to you. He is not a relative of mine. Thank you. Candie Vaughn Rogers

Have a question about the cemetery records. Who has these records and is there a phone number to contact them? I have an obituary and death record for Arthur that claims he was buried at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Clay County. So I'm surprised there is no listing for him being buried at the cemetery.
