John Thames
I got your message from Find A Grave. My great great aunt, Ida Gertrude Richardson was married to John C. Thames, she was his second wife. They were married in Perry County, Alabama on 13 March 1884. He was married first to Rebecca A. Murff on 10 May 1854 in Perry County. According to my information, John was born 9 January 1834 at Grays Creek, Cumberland, North Carolina. His father was David Alexander Thames and his mother was Dorothy “Dolly” Autrey. In the 1850 Census of Cumberland County, North Carolina, on 31 July 1850, John Thames listed along with a number of others as an “Apprentice” under the household of Alfred A. McKethan, age 41, who is a Coachmaker. There are other students and apprentices listed beneath him and his wife in the same household.

I hope you find this interesting. Genealogy is a passion of my life.

Thanks for contacting me, Carol

Southern Cross of Honor
Mr. Fisher,

Thank you so very much for installing The Southern Cross of Honor at the gravesite of my great, great grandfather, Private Nathan Adams. It was a nice surprise receiving the message that you had done this. Your dedication and efforts to acknowledge Nathan's service are much appreciated.

Mr Stancil
Thank you for trying to find Mr. Stancil for me. I did recheck the obituary and death certificate before I submitted the request, so it looks as though a headstone wasn't placed. I appreciate your all your efforts.

RE: Johnnie Fisher
Glad I could help. This one was fairly easy. Some in Sampson Co is worse than Reubin Fisher Cemetery. LOL.

I noticed many photo missing but only the few requests. I would be willing to go take photos of the rest if need be. I had a great time today filling these requests.
