"Soldier" John Combs
After 4 visits to the area, Soldier John has been found. He is buried on the Kessler Farm, 2020 Long Run Rd., Texas, KY. We owe a great debt of gratitude to: Deb Lowe, who knew where it was at; Donnie Staton, who used to maintain it; and Howard Arnold, who was with Deb a few years ago when it was discovered. My sister, Sandi Rambo, cousin, Vonda Sullivan, and I, were ecstatic. Please be aware, it is not an easy hike. Pictures will be posted very soon. Pictures of the site will also be posted for the other inhabitants, of which we awere able to identify several of them.

John "Soldier John" Combs, Jr.
I hesitate to send a picture of his grave, because that cemetery (14 internees) has been desecrated. The Goode Cemetery, Washington County, KY was not easy to locate. Once found, and along with 3 others, we discovered pieces of the grave stones on the ground. It is our intention to correct this.

Find A Grave #73293597
Trying to help a friend with some research. Did this particular individual have a child by the name of Thomas Hicks (1783-1849) who married Keziah Hayes? Daughter Mary married to John Jesse Souther???

Any leads will be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Texas, Washington County, Kentucky
I can answer that question! Texas is the name of a small community in Washington County, Kentucky. I'm a descendent of the Combs/Goode/Miller families. ~Sally

Good family
We too are related to the Good family. What does the word Texas have to do with the Good cemetery in Ky? Also do you have any more family pictures? Thanks
