Sarah, Even though I'm on travel and have limited time, I just did some research and found the obituary for your Mother which is what I needed to prove your descendency. Accordingly, I will transfer your great-grandmother's memorial to you. In the future, when you ask for transfers, you need to provide the information to validate the descendency. Thanks.
Obituary, Wise County Messenger, June 28, 2000
Funeral service for June Gray Boorman Akin, 72, of Princeton was Monday, June 26, at the Princeton Church of Christ. Burial followed at the Princeton Cemetery. Akin died Friday, June 23, 2000, in Decatur. Born Nov. 20, 1927, in Princeton, she graduated from Princeton High School in 1945 and married her high school sweetheart, Willis Neal "Norris" Akin. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in education from East Texas State University and was a teacher for 25 years. She was a teacher and coach at Rockwall High School. She and her family moved back to Princeton in 1967. She retired in 1991 after teaching for 20 years in the Princeton Independent School District. She liked genealogy, shopping, traveling and crocheting. She was a member of the Princeton Church of Christ. She had been a resident of Sunny Hills Nursing Center in Decatur since 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Thomas Curtis Boorman.
Survivors include a son, Norris Lane Akin of Decatur; a daughter, Sarah June Akin Lawson of Hereford; a sister, Sarah Blanche Boorman Farr of Collinsville; and 4 grandchildren, Tyson, Casey, Pace and Pierce. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Norris and June Akin Scholarship Fund. This fund will benefit a graduating senior of Princeton High School.
Dear Sarah, I'm on travel right now and haven't been on FindAGrave. With that said, I don't see anything on your June Akin's page that indicates she is your mother.... It appears you haven't created many memorials and it doesn't appear that you manage others in your line of descendency. Give me some more informaton and we will sort this out when I get back home. I'm a reasonable person but I want to validate that you indeed meet the four-generation descendancy. Thanks. TimelessSpirits

Dear Sarah, If you have read my profile, you are aware that I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding transfer of memorials. Any transfer requests should only be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
I have done an extraordinary amount of work on the memorial for Nannie Pitser Day Curtis but am willing to transfer it if you indeed meet the direct descendent criteria and if you explain exactly how you descend from her. Thanks.

Thanks for the nice email. I'm glad I was able to help you. I post as many graves as I can and I try to find an obituary or do research on the person if time permits. Sometimes when I post a name, I am absolutely drawn to do research even though I don't have a lot of discretionary time. And that's what happened in Nanny Curtis's case. I really wanted to know about her for some reason. I'm glad you were able to find her from what I posted. Drop me an email if there is someone else you have been trying to find but have been unable to. Sometimes I can find them, and sometimes I can't. Nancy
