Slimmer family
I found this 2011 posting from a family message board:

"I'm looking for information on the family of John S Slimmer (1777-1845) born in Maryland and settled in Ross County, Ohio. John's wife is Susannah Nelson (1787-1843), birthplace unknown. Their children are Joseph (1807-1828), Peter (1809-1875), Elizabeth (1812-1864), Christian (1813-1837), and Thomas (1818-1838)Slimmer. I'm particularly interested in Elizabeth who married Robert G Walling (1806-1835)and then married John Liebe/Leby (1797-1868). Elizabeth and John Liebe lived in Kingston, Ohio. Their son, John Jacob Liebe (1852-1928), married Martha Ann Whitcomb (1856-1928). They resided in Ross County."

Do you know anything about Christian Slimmer and whether he married Ann Amelia Adams in 1836 in Clark County, Ohio?

I am not a Slimmer descendant, but am related to Ann Amelia Adams.

Thank you,
Judy Morrison

RE: # 47502313 Valentine Hartman
I can't say the exact time his and many other graves were removed for building expansion as there were several periods of expansion. There also was a fire which consumed the entire building. All the graves and tombstones were replaced to a vacant lot across the road and were buried beneath the surface. There was a memorial marker placed there to that effect but the names are not included. Recently, on the same parcel, a granite monument was erected to honor veterans of Revolutionary and 1812 war. Sadly, it was poorly planned and some names were not included, such as your Valentine.

Oh, i see what you mean about the poem. i don't live near there. I think it would take a cleaning to read that and even then kind of iffy. Can't see much except "We" starting lines twice..I took the whole cemetery when I was there and it was in farmland and getting dark, so I didn't do any cleaning. Sometimes if a brush is used with soap and water it might bring out details or it might grind down the soft stone even more. donna
