Do you know anything about Marcus Ferdinand/Ferdinand Marcus Hall? Tombstone seems to indicate he must have been a Jr. But...only one death certificate comes up for an M.F. Hall...same death date, but about 18 years difference on the birth year. The only Marcus Ferdinand Hall in the census records is referred to as F. Hall, Marcus F., and Ferdinand M. Hall throughout the years and all are consistent with the birthdate of 1853/55. There seems to be nothing to back up a Marcus F. Hall, Jr. with the dates that match the tombstone. 1900 Census even gives birth for Marcus F. Hall as August 1853. Could there be an error on the stone in this case 1883, when should have been 1853? You are welcome. It was a pleasure to photograph your gggreat grandfather's headstone. But foremost it is a privilege to pay homage to ancestors who served and died for their beliefs.
