Find A Grave Memorial# 76049450

She was not married to John W. Manley. He never married at all. He spent the last several of decades of his life in the Central Ohio Psychiatric Hospital (see death cert below).

John W Manley in the Ohio, Deaths, 1908-1932, 1938-2007
Birth Date: 1894
Gender: Male
Race: White
Residence Place: Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, United States
Death Date: 2 May 1969
Hospital of Death: Central Ohio Psychiatric Hosp
Death Place: Columbus (Pt), Franklin, Ohio, USA
Certificate: 035674
Age at Death: 75
Certifier: Physician
Autopsy: No Autopsy performed
Marital Status: Never Married (Single)
Census Tract: 0580

Just a co-incidence that these two are in the same cemetery.

Not sure if you or the person who "put" John on Find-A-Grave "linked" them together. They should not be. I also contacted her.

FYI ... Ella did marry a John Manley but John Henry Manley and NOT John W. Manley (in fact, he was too young for her).

Here's who should be her husband:
John Henry Manley

Birth: Oct. 28, 1875 Middleport, Meigs County
Ohio, USA
Death: Apr. 5, 1961 Montgomery, Fayette County
West Virginia, USA

Burial: Jenkins Cemetery, Deep Water, Fayette County, West Virginia, USA

Thanks for being a volunteer, know that we never hear that very often, but it's a wonderful source of information.

RE: Frederick Heimlich
Not sure but a lot, I will ask next trip there.
I am working on placements of graves that do not have headstones.
Today one of the cards gave a number, the plot book had someone else buried there so I looked them up in the plot book and they have no card. Confused?? I am. One child had a headstone in 29, card shows she was moved, so she also has headstone with parents in 87. The cemetery has ashes of one person who has a headstone in the cemetery. Always something to think about.
Am loving every minute of it.

I can get the picture added. I was waiting for Becky to transfer her picture. Don't know how long to wait.

Catherine Schmidt Frickert
I'm trying to solve a bit of a mystery, and thought maybe you could help. There's apparently only one child of Catherine's buried at Mount Calvary. Do you know the names of her other children? There's a Philip "Tricket" (b. Nov 1888)listed as the adopted son of my great uncle Philip (who married a Schmidt)on the 1900 Census and then he disappears from the records. I suspect he could be one of her sons and that the census has the name wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Liza Salts
Thank you for doing some excellent research and pinning down the identity of Eliza B. Salts. I agree with your conclusion 100%, and I've updated and added information to her memorial to reflect your findings. You can see the result at

RE: Lena Essex
Thank you so much for your help. I have transferred Lena to the State Feeble-Minded Cemetery.
On her death certificate, it says that the place of her death, burial, or other was the Ohio Medical College. I suppose that this means that her body was donated to medical science.
She is a far distant cousin to me and when I found her death certificate, I just couldn't leave her without a memorial. She was one of the thousands of the nameless and forgotten of our society.
Thank you for your help and your contribution to Find A Grave.

Thank you very much for your question. I guess I will go back and find out why I put her there. If I am wrong, I will delete the memorial. Are you related and would you like to make the new memorial if it must be redone?
Thanks again,
Steve Peters of Galion, OH
I will let you know either way.

The stepson's name is listed as Benson Holmes. Please correct it to: Roy Dempsey Hoon.

Susannah Messmore was married to William Hoon and Roy is their son.

Thanks for reading this message.
