I have been working on genealogy for close to 20 years and know how obsessive it can get. Looking for information on several families. In Missouri: Koch, Orf, Stein, and Post all from the Wentzville and St. Charles area. In Michigan: Flees and Babic from the Battle Creek and Traverse City area. In my spare time I volunteer at the Midwest Genealogy Center in Independence, MO.|

Did I tell you that records from church and cemetery are still at Holy Rosary,in the little building between the school and church,probably the old convent for the sisters that taught there years ago.It is only open between 9 AM and noon.
I am not really able to get out there during the winter but I push myself to get for funerals of our relatives as my thoractic back pain affects my sciatic nerve.

|Ruth Smith||Evaline Lane|
Angela: Hello - I have a big problem to tell you about concerning Evaline Lane your memorial page #133591765 - First of all there is no cemetery here named Cape Girardeau City Cemetery. There are 53 names of people that were put there but it is non existent. We do have 3 city cemeteries but they are: Fairmount, New Lorimier and Old Lorimier. Recently someone drew this to my attention and I have taken on the job of researching all of these and sending messages to those people who originated them.
The problem (we have figured out) is that a lot of the death certificates stated "city cemetery" instead of which one. Here comes problem number two: I have row walked and taken pictures and made memorial pages for 2 of these - Fairmount and New Lorimier and copied lists of the burials there so hopefully most of the information is correct. However, I had Evaline Lane wrong and it is no wonder you couldn't find her. Fairmount, where she is buried, had her listed as Eveline Love. Can you imagine? Don't know why but I did find Sam Lane, her father and Jennie Lane, her mother also buried at Fairmount and a sister. So I am going to send you an edit to make it easier for you and ask you to please delete your memorial page at Cape Girardeau City Cemetery. Thanks so much. Ruth Smith
Hi Angela,was wondering if it is possible to use your Headstone pics for Bazil and Elizabeth Downey in my online tree will glad post credit to you. Shout out to Independence my son lives on Arrowhead Dr. Best Wishes Jim in Az.

Rita is correct. Looking on Ancestry, this photo does not match the obit. The stone next to him is his wife, Victoria and you can see them in several family trees. I can't fine Vincent Lasko or Batko married to Mary Lechowicz in the Chicago death record or other Ancestry record. My suggestion is to call the cemetery office. I don't go to this cemetery much any more. I would remove the obit from the memorial and it will be correct. Sorry I could be more help.

Vincent Lasko. The headstone photo in the memorial is not the same Vincent Lasko for the memorial you created. In the images, Wicenty Lasko, and his wife Wiktoria Lasko-my 2nd cousin 2X removed. Thanks

Frances was known as Frances Rose or Rose Frances Tafelski. It was the order of names for the edit.
She was married to Jacob Dezelski but thought she was divorced from him,as he was never mentioned after she married Richard F. Forton. Jake died in 1963, did she just remarry? She had four children with Jake. Two are deceased,Robert and David.

Mary is probably just one of the many rectangular cement boxes in the middle of the cemetery,probably overgrown with grass.Lucia was out before she died, edging the boxes. You'd have to find out exactly where she is buried,but I do not think there is anybody at the church as they cut the rectory help,not sure where to go either St. Mary's in LL or St. Michael's in Suttons Bay for the records.

|Dana||RE: Joseph Raymond Send|
Maybe the hardest part was his father Lawrence in St. Michael's and mother Anna in Oakwood Catholic.
I've seen this in my family,sometimes there's a reason and sometimes it's a lack of room.
I thought that I determined Joseph to be in St. Michael's in Suttons Bay or G.T. Memorial Gardens.
I did know the younger two of the three boys from school.

I have finally been able to see the light of day.
Our second granddaughter was born Tuesday.We babysit the other two afternoons a week.
Although we have about six inches of snow we have pretty fortunate with mild weather.
I going to try and squeeze a trip to Isadore,although it's only 20 miles there.
You asked a question about being the only Mt. Calvary- no, one in Gd. Rapids,New Calvary in Flint.Another Isadore? I don't think so in Michigan.Will try to locate the Rices',as I remember it's in Polish or German,so if anybody tell you that the Rajas are not there- wrong.
Lucia and I had them in the cemetery when we attempted transcribing.The project kind of fell apart when I had surgery and Lucia started her last book before her unexpected death in 2012.
I told you that the discovery program was pretty disappointing-although if I had never read the books, it would be OK.No body seems to have Stella's daughter's family connection correct But
that's fine with me,since there are so many Flees
families to choose from.
