I got started in genealogy helping my dad with his research when I was a child. Now I've gotten back into the family research adding on to what was already started by my dad and others. I have also started researching the genealogy of my husband's family.

I see you have control of Addie and her husband Nicholas memorials, Addie's father Samuel Elisha Brown was the brother to my great grandfather Everett Elmer Brown aka Elmer, and I have been looking for Samuel and Union (Sarah) grave site, and I keep hearing Hopewell in Rush Co. but have been there several times and have not located it, do you happen to have any information on them.

RE: McComas
Hi Judy, thank you for the info on Harold Richard McComas & Helen Meeks.

The Helen that married Harold Richard McComas was Helen Louise Meeks, and the Helen that married Meyers Abstine was Helen Taft Meek. Both Helen's were siblings. Helen Taft Abstine (nee Meeks) had two children that I know of, oen is Joanne that you mentioned and the other is James H. Abstine, whom I have spoken with via email.

Would you by chance have a digital copy of the newspaper article in the Edinburgh Daily Courier(Edinburgh, IN) dated April 26, 1930 that you could share with me via email? I have many obits on the above listed individuals and photos if you would like copies of them I can send you, or I can send you an invitation to my tree on

I believe that I found the info in the Church Book from Waldhambach and Waldrohrbach. Unfortunately, I can't check on that now because the book is in Ohio and I am in Arizona for the next 6 weeks. If you don't hear from me on this by about Thamksgiving, please e-mail me or leave a message on Find A Grave.

RE: Cook Family
You're most welcome. Glad to do it.

As a youngster I attended Zion's Hill Baptist Church but we interacted a lot with the people at New Salem. In fact, my membership is still at Zion's Hill Baptist.

I've lived in Missouri for a very long time now but still manage to take pictures when I visit my sister, Melissa Gladson, who lives not far from New Salem Church.

It was my pleasure to add this one. Only met him a couple of times myself but seemed like a good man.

I would be more than happy to add the obits to the Kaylor memorial pages, however, I would like to have the sources of the obits. Thank you!

Transfers in New Salem Baptist Cemetery

More than happy to make the requested transfers. I used to live out there years ago (went to Zions Hill Baptist though) and my sister lives on Burma Road so one day when I had not much going I just went out there and tried to take pictures of all the markers and make memorials for those not already created. I recognized a lot of names but none are family so I'm eager to transfer them to either family members or other people close to them.
