I am most grateful for those of you out in the "field" photographing stones and documenting burials. I sincerely thank you. I have added and will continue to add research for family members that I have found on Find A Grave.

Primary names are Whitright/Witterecht, Shoemaker, Kobel/Coble, Zuber/Zouver, Bachman and Hermann, all early settlers of Pennsylvania. As the Whitright's moved westward, Harden, Sprinkle, Snyder and Baxter to name just a few.

Also interested in connecting the Witwright family of Anne Arundel County, Maryland and the Witright/Whitright family of York County, PA.

RE: John Witrecht
Thanks, but no I want to leave my great-great-great grandfather's name spelling as is. That is the spelling on his wife and daughter's gravestones.

RE: Whitright/Whitwright
Thanks, Jean, for the correct spelling of Jesse Whitright's surname (I had Whitwright). If you have any more information on him I will welcome it.

Jean - I have transferred the memorials for Sam and Mary Healy. Please let me know if there are any others that you need transferred and I will be happy to do so. I am also working on taking photos of all of the headstones in the cemetery, so let me know if you need these sooner rather than later. Tylene

Peter Witterecht
In doing my family tree I have found that I am a direct grandson of Peter Witterecht. My other grandfather was John Frederick Klitz whom married Anna Margaretta Whitright Klitz. I was wondering if any of the family has tried to join the SAR? Any information or documents that you have I would greatly appreciate. You may contact me at

RE: Whitright Stone
You are more than welcome to add the photos yourself to the memorials. I am very happy you can do---it will make a very nice addition to their pages. Thanks!

RE: Allen and William Whitright
There is a complete transcript of all the readable headstones in Waite Hill compiled by the Lake County Genealogical Socity available free on line here:

However, this does not cover any records for burials which never had a headstone or those for which the stone is now unreadable or missing.
As for Solomon, his infant son, Morse Shoemaker, is also buried in Waite Hill. Solomon was born c 1827 in OH and married Spedy Waite, one of Waites of Waite Hill. I thought there might be a connection between Solomon and Magdalena. I have no Shoemaker connections and I don't know where in Ohio Solomon was from.
